Scripture tells us to go into all of the world to present the gospel, beginning in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the uttermost parts. Simpson Creek has set our sights on taking the gospel to our Judea, by taking the gospel to Elkins. We invite you to be a part of our evangelistic outreach and effort to start a church there. Remember to also pray for God’s guidance in your own life, and the role that he would have you play in this effort.
For our upcoming Block Party in Elkins, we need volunteers in the following teams.
The Block Party Team - This team will be responsible for the set up and preparation for the Block Party including cooking food, setting up blow-up Bounce houses and other recreational games. Some of these people will need to be able to lift and move extremely heavy canvas blow-ups and to drive in safety stakes. Each member of this team will be responsible to monitor a game or blow-up station to maintain order and safety, or they will be responsible for food distribution.
The Outreach Team - This team will begin by assisting the set upof the Block Party, but will be tasked with going door to door in groups of three to engage with the community and invite them to the Block Party. Each team meber will be required to attend evangelism training prior to the event. In this training they will learn how to move a conversation toward a gospel witness. As the team is going door to door, they will seek to complete a survey, and if possible share the gospel during conversations. Upon returning to the Block party, they will move among participants and seek to engage and connect with residents, share the gospel, and invite people to participate in other planned events.
