Vickery K9 -- Training Services Agreement, Liability Waiver, and Participation Policies
  • Vickery K9

Training Services Agreement, Liability Waiver, and Participation Policies
  • This agreement is entered into by and between Vickery K9 LLC, operated by Meghan Bodie ("Trainer"), and the undersigned dog owner or handler ("Owner").

By participating in training services provided by Vickery K9 LLC, including but not limited to group classes, private lessons, in-home training, travel training sessions, workshops, and related training activities, Owner agrees to the terms outlined in this agreement.

  • Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability

Owner understands and acknowledges that participation in dog training activities involves inherent risks to both people and animals. These risks include, but are not limited to, dog bites, scratches, or other injuries; dog fights or interactions between dogs; unpredictable or reactive dog behavior; and injuries resulting from the use of training equipment or the training environment. Owner understands that dogs are animals whose behavior may be unpredictable despite training and supervision.

By participating in training services provided by Vickery K9 LLC, Owner knowingly and voluntarily assumes all risks associated with these activities for themselves, their dog(s), and any individuals accompanying them. Owner agrees that participation in training services is undertaken entirely at Owner’s own risk.

Owner further agrees to release, waive, and discharge Vickery K9 LLC, Meghan Bodie, and any employees, assistants, or affiliated training facilities from any and all liability, claims, demands, damages, or causes of action arising out of or related to participation in training services, including but not limited to injury, illness, loss, or damage to persons, dogs, or property.

  • Responsibility for Dog’s Behavior

Owner represents that, to the best of their knowledge, their dog has not exhibited dangerous or aggressive behavior that would pose an unreasonable risk to people or other animals unless such behavior has been fully disclosed to the Trainer prior to participation. Owner agrees to maintain control of their dog at all times and to follow all handling, safety, and training instructions provided by the Trainer. Owner further agrees to promptly disclose any known behavioral concerns, bite history, or changes in behavior that may affect the safety of people or other dogs during training.

Owner acknowledges and agrees that they remain solely responsible for the behavior of their dog at all times and assume full liability for any injury, damage, or loss caused by their dog to any person, animal, or property while participating in training services.

Owner understands that training environments may involve the presence of other dogs and people. While reasonable precautions are taken to maintain a safe environment, Owner accepts the inherent risk of interactions between dogs and agrees that Vickery K9 LLC and its representatives will not be held liable for injuries or damages resulting from the actions of other dogs or participants.

  • Right to Refuse or Dismiss Participation

Vickery K9 LLC reserves the right to refuse or discontinue training services for any dog or owner whose behavior is deemed unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate for the training environment. This includes, but is not limited to, dogs displaying uncontrolled aggression, handlers who are unable or unwilling to follow safety instructions, or situations that pose a risk to other participants, dogs, or property.

If a dog or owner is dismissed from a training session, class, or program for safety or behavioral reasons, no refund will be issued for missed or unused training services.

  • Responsibility for Damages

Owner agrees to be solely responsible for any injury, damage, or loss caused by their dog to any person, animal, or property while participating in training services. In the event that Owner’s dog causes injury to another dog or person, Owner agrees to assume full financial responsibility for any resulting medical or veterinary expenses, damages, or related costs. Owner agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Vickery K9 LLC, Meghan Bodie, and any employees, assistants, or affiliated facilities from any claims, demands, or liabilities arising from the actions or behavior of Owner’s dog, including any claims brought by other participants or third parties.

  • Vaccination and Health Requirements

Owner confirms that their dog is in good health and free from any contagious illness or condition that could pose a risk to other dogs or participants. Owner further confirms that their dog is current on vaccinations appropriate for participation in training environments, including rabies, distemper/parvovirus (DHPP), and bordetella, as recommended by their veterinarian.

Owner understands that participation in training services may involve interaction with other dogs and accepts the inherent risk of exposure to illness despite reasonable precautions.

Vickery K9 LLC reserves the right to deny participation or remove any dog from training services if the dog appears ill, is suspected of having a contagious condition, or otherwise poses a health risk to other dogs or participants.

  • Training Results Disclaimer

Owner understands that dog training results vary based on many factors, including but not limited to the dog’s temperament, training history, environment, consistency of practice, and the Owner’s handling and follow through between training sessions.

Vickery K9 LLC and its representatives make no guarantees or warranties regarding specific training outcomes or behavioral results. Owner acknowledges that successful training requires consistent practice and participation outside of scheduled training sessions and that progress depends significantly on the Owner’s consistency and involvement.

Owner further understands that training is an ongoing process and that behaviors must be practiced and maintained over time. Skills learned during training may diminish if they are not consistently reinforced after formal training services have ended.

  • Client Satisfaction

Vickery K9 LLC is committed to providing professional instruction and support throughout the training process. If Owner has concerns about the training program or their dog’s progress, Owner agrees to communicate those concerns promptly so they can be addressed. Dissatisfaction with training progress or results does not constitute grounds for a refund outside of the cancellation policies outlined in this agreement.

  • Payment, Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

Training services must be paid for in full at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Payment reserves the appointment or class space and confirms acceptance of the policies outlined in this agreement.

If Owner needs to cancel or reschedule an appointment, the following policies apply.

Private Lessons and Class Drop-Ins: Changes made 48 hours or more before the scheduled appointment will receive a full credit toward a future training service. No credits or refunds will be issued for cancellations or changes made less than 48 hours before the scheduled appointment.

Group Classes: A full credit will be issued if a cancellation request is received at least 7 days prior to the start of the first class. A 75% credit may be issued for cancellation requests received at least 72 hours prior to the first class, only if the spot can be filled by another team. No refunds or credits will be issued after this time. Because class sizes are intentionally limited, make-up sessions are not available for missed classes.

No-Shows: Failure to attend a scheduled lesson or class without prior notice will be considered a no-show, and the session will be forfeited with no refund or credit issued.

How to Request Changes: All cancellation or rescheduling requests must be submitted in writing via email to meghanbodie@gmail.com or by text to 803-220-8207. Requests are considered received based on the timestamp of the message.

Credits: A credit means the amount already paid will remain on the Owner’s account and may be applied toward a future Vickery K9 training service. Credits are not cash refunds and must be used within 3 months of the originally scheduled service date.

By booking and submitting payment for training services, Owner acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to the cancellation and rescheduling policies outlined in this agreement.

  • Off-Site and In-Home Training

For training sessions conducted at the Owner’s home or other off-site locations, Owner agrees that the training environment will be reasonably safe and suitable for training activities. Owner agrees to disclose any known hazards, other animals, or safety concerns present at the training location prior to the session.

Owner accepts responsibility for the training environment and for ensuring that other household animals, people, or conditions that may interfere with training are properly managed or secured during the session.

Vickery K9 LLC reserves the right to modify or discontinue a training session if the environment is determined to be unsafe or unsuitable for training. If a session is discontinued due to safety concerns related to the training environment and those conditions cannot be reasonably corrected, the session will be considered forfeited and no refund will be issued.

  • Emergency Veterinary Care

If Owner is not present and the dog becomes ill or injured during training activities, Owner authorizes Vickery K9 LLC to seek emergency veterinary care if the Trainer reasonably believes such care is necessary. Owner agrees to be fully responsible for any veterinary expenses incurred as a result of such treatment.

  • Photo and Media Release

Owner grants permission for Vickery K9 LLC to photograph or record training sessions for educational, promotional, or marketing purposes, including use on websites, social media, and other promotional materials. Owner understands that these images or recordings may include themselves, their dog, or other participants.

Owner may request in writing that images or recordings of themselves or their dog not be used for public or promotional purposes.

  • Severability

If any provision of this agreement is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

  • Agreement and Acknowledgment

By signing below, Owner acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this Training Services Agreement and Liability Waiver. Owner acknowledges that they are voluntarily participating in training services provided by Vickery K9 LLC and agree to be bound by the terms outlined in this agreement. Owner affirms that they are the legal owner or authorized handler of the dog(s) listed below and have the authority to enter into this agreement.
