  • This form is for registration and competition submission for Future Biotechnologists Summit 2026, jointly organized by the Network of Young Biotechnologists of Bangladesh (NYBB) and Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Dhaka on Celebration of DNA Day, Saturday, 25 April 2026.
    Participants may register to attend the summit or apply for competitions including-

    • BioVenture (Inter-university biotechnology-based business idea competition)
    • BioLens (Biotechnology-themed photography contest)
    • BioReels (Biotechnology-based video & digital content creation competition)
    • BioStory (Translation of research articles into Bangla)
    • BioPoster (National Biotechnology Poster Presentation Competition)

    National Biotechnology Thesis Presentation Contest

  • Eligibility: Only students who completed a master's (thesis) in 2025 or 2026, or are currently enrolled in a master's thesis program in biotechnology or genetics, or a related department of any recognized university in Bangladesh, can join.

    Relevant Fields of Study: We welcome abstracts from all areas of biotechnology or genetics.

    Rules and Submission Guidelines:

    1. Abstract Submission: All applicants must submit an abstract of their original research through the application form.

    Abstract Guidelines:

    1. Word limitation between 300, excluding author name(s) and affiliation(s)
    2. Fonts: Times New Roman, size 12 with line spacing 1.5
    3. Abstract segment: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion.
    4. The presenting author's name should be underlined.
    5. Abstract file name format: Student Name_University Name_TPC_FBS2026, example “Mohammad_DU_TPC_FBS2026”


    Review Process: All submitted abstracts will undergo a blind peer review by a panel of experts based on originality, scientific merit, methodology, and relevance to the chosen track.

    Presentation Format: Selected applicants will be notified for an oral presentation and given 6-8 minutes to present.

    Originality: Plagiarism in any form will lead to immediate disqualification.

    Selection: Shortlisted applicants will be called for an online selection round between 12 and 17 April 2026. Semifinalist and Finalist candidates must be physically present in Dhaka on 24 and 25 April 2026 for the presentation.

  • BioVenture 

    National Inter-university biotechnology-based business idea competition

  • 1. Eligibility: Currently enrolled undergraduate or master’s students from any recognized university in Bangladesh. Teams must be made of 3 members and the members must be currently studying in the biotechnology and/or genetic engineering related departments.

    2. Submission Requirements

    Each team must submit only one business idea related to biotechnology.
    The submission must include:
    A maximum 300-word abstract describing the core idea, scientific relevance, and scope in biotechnology. Abstract must also include the details of the team members (excluded from the 300 word count). Abstract format: font style- calibri, font size- 12, spacing- 1.15.
    A complete business model canvas describing the business aspects of the idea. Download the doc file containing the template and fill it up accordingly. The doc file contains a section for team name and business idea title, a table required to be filled as per the elaboration provided on page 2. Please fill the table in font size between 9-10 in order to manage space of the template. Upload the file in the designated section below after naming it as per following format- Team-Name_Abbreviated-University-Name_BioVenture_FBS2026,

    3. Originality and Plagiarism
    The submitted idea must be the original work of the applicant(s).
    Any form of plagiarism or misrepresentation of someone else's work will result in immediate disqualification.
    4. Selection Process
    A panel of expert judges from academia and industry will review all submissions based on:
    ·       Originality and scientific merit

    ·       Problem identification and relevance

    ·       Market feasibility and potential impact

    ·       Clarity of the submitted abstract and business model canvas

    Shortlisted participants/teams will be notified via email for further instructions and selected team names will be announced on our official platforms.


    5. Final Pitch Presentation
    Shortlisted finalists must present their idea in person at the Summit on 25th April at Venue.
    Each team will be given 6 minutes for their pitch, followed by a 3-5 minute Q&A session with the judges.
    Presentations will be delivered using powerpoint slides and any supporting visual aid. The business model canvas submitted earlier should be incorporated into the final pitch.
    Finalists must bring their own laptops or coordinate with organizers in advance for technical setup.
    A complete set of instructions for finalists will be provided via email to selected teams.

    National Biotechnology-themed photography contest

  • 1. Eligibility: Currently enrolled undergraduate or master’s students from any recognized university in Bangladesh. Individuals must be from the department of biotechnology and/or genetic engineering related departments.

    2. Submission Requirements:

    -Raw file must be provided
    -File size: max 50 MB
    -File Format: jpeg, jpg, heic, png 
    -Device name and capturing date
    -Edit: can ONLY change brightness or contrast. No heavy manipulation
    -NO AI photo is allowed


    3. Theme:

    a. Inside the Lab (Microscopy images, DNA/RNA experiments,like gel electrophoresis, Microbial cultures, Laboratory equipment in use)
    b. Outside the Lab (Agricultural biotech, Environmental application, Everyday Biotech Life or Product, Sustainability & 3R)

  • Eligibility: Currently enrolled undergraduate or master’s students from any recognized university in Bangladesh. Individuals must be from the department of biotechnology and/or genetic engineering or related departments.

    Video resolution: 720p minimum 
    Video format: mp4
    Only one video is allowed 
    Language: English or Bangla
    The content must be accurate and scientifically valid
    It should be original and not plagiarized

    Theme & Content: The video must be related to biotechnology, or genetics, which may include:

    Scientific awareness
    Educational video
    Lab experiment 
    Video abstract on Research Article 
    Humorous content (must not humiliate any personality)

    Top 3 contents will be presented before the audience

    Translation of research articles into Bangla

  • Rules:
    Eligibility: Submissions can be made in a group of 2 members or individually. Students must be from biotechnology, genetics or related disciplines. Currently enrolled undergraduate or master’s students studying in the biotechnology and/or genetic engineering related departments are eligible to apply.

    Length of Writing: 700–800 words.

    References: No limit (will not be counted within the word limit)

    Title:

    The title must be original; it cannot be copied directly from any journal.

    Structure and Style of Writing:

    1. Language: Bengali
    2. Target Audience: General people (non-specialist audience)
    3. The writing must clearly include the following points:
    • Why the research is important
    • The main claim of the research (briefly)
    • Relevance to the context of Bangladesh or regional problems
    • Your own analysis/opinion

    Use of AI is strictly prohibited (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity)

    Graphical Abstract (Optional):

    Not mandatory; caption: 20–30 words.

    Can be created using BioRender or similar tools.

    Formatting:

    Avro Keyboard can be used for typing in Bengali.

    Font size: 10–11

    Line spacing: 1.1–1.2

    Research Article:

    One article must be translated from a set of 10 research papers selected by the competition committee.

  • Eligibility: Anyone who is under 40 years of age and a graduate or professional or  Currently enrolled undergraduate or master’s students in biotechnology or genetics or related fields, or a related department of any recognized university in Bangladesh, can join.

    Relevant Fields of Study: We welcome abstracts from all areas of biotechnology or genetics.

    5. Only the presenting author should submit the abstract and complete registration. If the abstract is accepted, one more team member will have the chance to be present on the day of the poster exhibition. But will need to pay registration fees and complete registration by 15 April 2026.
