Overview:
Feeding America states that one meal is the equivalent of 1.2 pounds and the average meal cost in Montgomery county is less than $4.00.
- Prepare a balanced and nutritious meal for a family of four for $20 or less, utilizing foods that are readily available from food pantries.
- We recommend using items from our Most Needed Items list when hosting food drives. Most Needed Items
- Prepare enough for 100 miniature servings.
- Each team must provide a list of items, along with the cost. Receipts, receipts, receipts!

Team Responsibilities:
- Each team will have space for one to two 6-foot tables (one to serve from and one to prep.) Teams are asked to bring their own tables and chairs.
- Teams will need to provide whatever supplies are necessary for their dish. This can include:
- Utensils, crock pots, griddles, electric skillets, hot pots, aprons, paper towels, trash bags, hand sanitizer, etc. To avoid circuit overloads, each team is limited to two electrical appliances.
- In order to be considered for award, teams must present their dish to the judges by the scheduled time.
- Receipts will be required to ensure the cost falls within the $20 maximum cost.
- IMPORTANT: The following items are NOT allowed, due to food safety.
- Generators
- Deep friers
- Smokers
- Nothing with a flame
Team Guidelines:
- Teams can begin setting up at 7:30 am.
- Judging will take place between 9:00 – 10:00 am.
- Open to the public and/ or members of your team from 10:00 – 10:45 am.
- Award winners will be announced at 11:00 am.
