• Resilience in Region 8 Environmental Action Civics Training Application Form

    Welcome to Resilience in R8! This 4-session virtual course will cover the basics of Environmental Action Civics, the Earth Force Process, and provide structured planning time to get your org started. You will also gain access to all of our resources, ongoing support, and our community of practice, where the asynchronous portion of the training is hosted.   • Audience

    This special training cohort is exclusive to EPA's Region 8: CO, UT, WY, MT, ND and SD. It is intended for nonprofit organizations or agencies focused in environment and/or civics who work with youth or provide teacher professional development. Whether in the after-school space, as a field trip provider, community partner, or network hub, we can't wait to have you! Folks in school-wide roles, such as curriculum specialists, sustainability coordinators, or department leads are welcome to apply; unfortunately, this course is not a good fit for classroom teachers. 

  • Course Checklist

    For this course you will: -Complete the asynchronous pre-work hosted on Mighty Networks -Attend 4 live, synchronous sessions -Complete an Action Plan for next steps for your organization -Meet with facilitators for post-course follow-up support for your Action Plan
  • Course Materials & Participation

    This course has asynchronous components (on your own in Mighty Networks) as well as synchronous, interactive components (together on Zoom). As a cohort-based course, it is expected that participants are able to unmute and be active for discussion-based activities in the training. Participants will receive slides and access to all of Earth Force's resources; full recordings of sessions are not provided.
  • Subaward Funding

    The EPA is offering a $1,000 subaward for this "Resilience in R8" training. To receive the funding, participants will complete ta grant agreement and budget, attend the resilience training, develop and implement a plan for engaging students and fellow educators, then complete a brief report detailing the number of participants reached, grade levels, and zip codes to track the program's reach within the region.
