Description: Is the world feeling heavy on your shoulders?
Why not join us for an evening of simple destressing practices to calm mind and body. This interactive, immersive 2-hour class is taught by Annette Wells, lifelong educator, artist, editor, and massage therapist who has been doing bodywork since 1973.
The first half of the class will be a series of clothed stretches and bodywork moves from a variety of evidence-based modalities to relax muscles, hydrate fascia, and turn nervous energy into calm relaxation. We will be working with partners. Bring your own partner or make a new friend in class.
The second hour of the class will explore breath work, guided Metta meditation which helps to cultivate compassion, kindness and goodwill toward oneself and others. Of course, we will send some of these good vibes out to the community garden! We will follow this with a present moment awareness meditation session.
*Bring*: Your yoga mat, a pillow or meditation cushion, a blanket if you get chilly being still in meditation. No previous meditation or bodywork expereince needed.
The class is free, donations graciously accepted
