About the LA Opera Youth Vocal Training Program
Every student deserves to explore their artistry–that's why we're proud to present a new small-cohort summer pilot vocal training program. This is a unique opportunity for 4 special students who will be provided with high-quality instruction, institutional access, and a structured pathway into fall season engagement. This program is supported by the LA County Supervisor Holly J. Michell, 2nd District.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
- The program will run for eight weeks from June 22 - August 14
- Open to students entering grades 6–12 who will be enrolled in high school or middle school during the 2026-27 school year, and who have an interest in singing. Current high school seniors graduating in May 2026 are eligible to apply.
- Students must reside in the following unincorporated areas and ZIP codes of LA County's Second Supervisorial District:
- East Gardena: 90247, 90248, 90249
- East Rancho Dominguez: 90221
- Florence-Firestone: 90001, 90002
- Lennox: 90304
- West Rancho Dominguez: 90220
- Westmont-West Athens: 90044, 90047
- Willowbrook: 90059, 90061, 90222
- Includes weekly vocal and acting sessions at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion
- Features performance opportunities at Opera Camp, which takes place from July 20-24 and July 27-August 1, 2026.
- Following the program, students will be enrolled in LA Opera’s 90012 program for the 2026-27 Opera season and will receive complimentary tickets to opera performances at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
