Ontario Swimming Championships will be a heats & finals competition for Ontario swimmers & Paralympic level 2 (or higher) athletes as well as timed final youth (12&U) swimmers hosted by Swim Ontario with the help of Day Hosts Scarborough Swim Club, North York Aquatic Club, Lakeshore Swim Club, Markham Aquatic Club & Etobicoke Swim Club.
It runs 5 days heats & finals for Junior/Senior level swimmers (Wed to Sun) and Youth level swimmers from Thu to Sat for a total of 13 sessions.
This meet will be a great opportunity for officials interested in experiencing a championship format. We welcome everyone, including those looking to try a role for the first time at this type of event.
This championship consists of 13 sessions and requires support from officials across all participating clubs to ensure a high-quality competition environment. While each day has an assigned Day Host responsible for coordinating officiating needs, all officials are strongly encouraged to indicate their availability for any sessions they are able to support—not just those on their club’s designated host day.
Officials will be assigned to a position for all sessions in which they sign up. Please only select the number of sessions you are prepared to fully commit to.
Broader participation across multiple sessions helps ensure appropriate coverage and provides valuable development opportunities for officials at all levels.
OFFICIATING LEVEL GUIDANCE:
Level 3–5 Officials:
Officials certified at Levels 3 to 5 are encouraged to indicate their availability for senior officiating roles, including Judge of Stroke, Chief Inspector of Turns, Chief Judge Electronics, Starter, and Referee. Participation across multiple sessions is strongly encouraged, not just on your club’s designated Day Host day, to help ensure experienced leadership throughout the competition.
Level 1–2 Officials:
Officials certified at Levels 1 and 2, including those qualified as Inspector of Turns and/or in Administrative Desk roles, are encouraged to sign up for all sessions they are available to attend. Expanding participation beyond your club’s assigned Day Host day will support your development and increase opportunities for deck evaluations and mentorship.
