    Head Start-5th Grade $200 | 6th Grade-12th Grade $300
  • Purpose:

    The School Clothing Program is to provide supplemental assistance to enrolled tribal youth to ensure they have school clothing before the new academic year. This program is to ease the financial challenges faced by tribal families, promote school readiness, and support the well-being and success of our youth. By investing in our students, we honor our commitment to education, tradition, and community empowerment.
  • Eligibility:

    • Currently enrolled Cheyenne and Arapaho members, age 3 (must turn 3 by Sept. 1) through 18 years of age
    • Enrolled in Head Start through High School for the 2026-2027 academic school year
    • No pending tribal enrollment applications are to be accepted.
    • Homeschooled students are not eligible.
    • Tribal Head start applicants will not be processed until after the first week of school.
  • Required Documents:

    1. A COMPLETED 2026-2027 SCHOOL CLOTHING APPLICATION- The Parent/Legal Guardian name on the school clothing application MUST match the records from the Tribal Enrollment office. (IF guardianship has not been updated with the Enrollment Office you must contact Enrollment Office prior to applying)
    2. SIGNED GUIDELINES, RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    3. COMPLETED SCHOOL VERIFICATION FORM OR OFFICIAL SCHOOL LETTER- For every student listed on the application, the student must have a school official signature or school official stamp. We will also accept Official School Letters if on an official school letterhead and the students name, grade for the new upcoming year must be listed. Please make sure all student names listed on the application are also on the school verification form. Tribal Head Start applicants will be processed after the first week of school.

The parent/guardian is responsible for getting this form completed. You will not be able to submit the application until the completed School Verification Form is uploaded.   • The School Clothing Program will be offering a pick-up option for Parents/Legal Guardians. There will only be 2 Distribution Weeks. 1st Distribution in June and 2nd Distribution in July.

     

    • If your child is attending Head Start, the School Clothing Cards will not be processed and mailed until after the first week of school. Head Start students will not qualify for the pick-up option.

     

    • Please review the list for pick-up days and choose the location you want to pick up your card(s).

     

    • If you do not select a pickup or mail option on the application the card(s) will be mailed directly to the mailing address listed on the application.

     

    • School Clothing Program will only be receiving card(s) for distribution days for applications that have a selected location for pick up.

     

    • If you select the mail option on the application the card(s) will be mailed to you directly from the card company.

     

    • If you do not show up to pick up the card(s) at the selected location the card(s) will be put in the mail at the end of the distribution day. No Exceptions!

     

    • If you need to designate someone to pick up the school clothing card(s), applicant must complete the Authorization Form.

     

    What to bring for Distribution Days:

     

    • Valid ID- Driver’s License, State ID or CDIB. The ID must match the parent/guardian’s name on the application or designated person(s) listed on the Authorization Form.

  • RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Parents/legal guardian acknowledges that the funds distributed through the SCP are solely for the purpose of purchasing school clothing for the applicant. The Parents/legal guardian understands that if the card is lost and is re-issued there will be a fee deducted from the re-issued card. If necessary, I give the SCP permission to verify my child’s tribal enrollment. I have read and understand the preceding Rights and Responsibilities, and the program guidelines. I verify that I am a custodial parent/legal guardian for the minor listed above or have been given permission to receive and spend the funds on behalf of the above named tribally enrolled student by the custodial parent/legal guardian.

    • I understand that applying does not guarantee approval or receipt of services or funds. • I acknowledge that all information provided in this application must be true, complete, and accurate to the best of my knowledge. • I understand that incomplete, inaccurate, or false information may result in delay, denial, or termination of services. • I understand that all program deadlines, documentation requirements, and rules must be followed as outlined by the program.
  • Card Use & Reporting Requirements

    • I understand that the card issued through this program is to be used only for the benefit of the approved student(s) and not for use by the parent/legal guardian or any other individual. • I acknowledge that misuse of funds, including use for non-student purposes, may result in denial of services in future program years. • I agree to notify the program within seven (7) calendar days if the card(s) is/are lost or stolen. • I understand that failure to report a lost or stolen card within the required timeframe will result in loss of remaining funds.
  • Card Expiration & Reissuance

    • I understand that all cards will expire on the last day of November of each year, regardless of remaining balance. • I acknowledge that no cards will be reissued after the expiration date, for any reason. • I understand that unused funds after the expiration date will be forfeited.
  • Student Eligibility Requirements

    • I understand that applications for students who are high school seniors repeating a grade and over the age of 18 will not be approved. • If a student is over the age of 18 and identified with special needs, I understand that the program must receive official notification from the school verifying that: - the students have not walked with their graduating class, and - the student is not enrolled in a transitioning program. • I understand that failure to provide required school documentation may result in denial of the application.
  • Applicant Responsibilities

    • I am responsible for submitting all required documentation by the deadlines stated. • I am responsible for updating any court documents to verify guardianship to the Enrollment Office before applying. Failure to do so will result in delays of processing. • I understand that it is my responsibility to monitor email, mail, and phone communications related to this program. • I agree to notify the program promptly of any changes to my contact information or student status. • I understand that failure to respond to requests for information may affect my eligibility.

    • I understand that my personal information will be handled in a confidential manner, in accordance with applicable policies and laws. • I have the right to ask questions or request clarification regarding program requirements or application decisions.
