  • Museum's Mission

The Friends of the Tobacco Farm Life Museum is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization created to support the Tobacco Farm Life Museum, which was started in 1983 with on-farm tours to local farms. It has grown to include a 6,000-square-foot gallery, a workshop, a pack house, a traditional homestead, a tobacco barn, and a one-room schoolhouse.

The Museum's mission is to preserve and present the heritage and history of the rural North Carolina farm family between 1880 and 1940. It fulfills this mission through exhibits and events that focus on the farm community.

    Project Details

The Friends of the Tobacco Farm Life Museum are seeking to build long-lasting fundraising opportunities and meet on-site needs by encouraging the community to become a part of preserving North Carolina's history. We seek to begin a walkway of names tied to the agriculture story in North Carolina, whether you are a farmer or the great-grandson/granddaughter of a farmer; agriculture is a part of your story. Help the Museum continue the story of agriculture in North Carolina by donating a brick. The Heritage Trail fundraiser will build on the foundation already laid by the founders and will continue with projects already in progress.
