    INFORMATION

    WHAT IS D-ONE CAMP?

D-ONE Team Camp is an overnight camp that we will be attending with all of levels of our high school teams as well as players at the middle school level that are interested this summer.  This camp allows us the opportunity to bond as a team, while being able to improve our game. We will play several games against other school teams and be able to make improvements and adjustments each game.  Players will hear various guest speakers and compete in team competitions, along with playing games as a team.  It is an important bonding experience with our players, their teammates, and our coaching staff.  Players will have a lot of fun and play a lot of basketball.  We will be staying at the Purdue University Northwest dorms and playing at various gyms around the campus area.  We will have 2 mini buses with us to transport girls to games that are off of the campus but close by and a regular school bus if needed.

    FACILITIES AND SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS:

Games are played at the Hammond Sportsplex.  There are 10 basketball courts under one roof, and plenty of space to hang out between games.

Dorms will be located at Purdue Northwest that is only a 5-minute drive from Hammond Sportplex. The dorms are suite-style and are on a very nice campus with excellent campus security.

COST:  The cost of the camp is $295.00.

Meals are provided at the camp, but players will need to bring extra money for snacks, and a fast food type lunch going to the camp on the way down and dinner coming from the camp on the way back. Players may order pizza’s and snacks as well.

UNIFORMS:  Practice gear for middle school and high school players from the previous year, and league reversibles for incoming 7th grade girls.  St. Pat's students please let me know.

    GAMES:

Each team will play round robin regular schedule of games throughout the three days.
All games have officials, stopped clocks, timers, scorers, and regular game rules with little modification for summer play.
Upper-class players will be given instruction in responsibilities, roles, and guidelines to build LEADERSHIP and CHAIN OF COMMAND for the upcoming season.
Individuals will compete in competitions for 1 on 1, dribbling, free throw, and 3-point in each category listed above.
Guest speakers will be featured at different times of the camp.

    GENERAL INFORMATION:

    • All players are expected to adhere to school rules and policies traveling to and from the camp and while participating at the camp.  If campers are causing behavioral problems, parents will be contacted to come and get their daughter and take her home immediately without a camp refund.
