2026 EMTA Excellence in Music Awards Program Registration

By submitting this form the participant agrees to enter the Edmonds Music Teacher Association Excellence in Music Awards Program.

General Requirements for students
● Your teacher and the applicant must be able to help with the 2026 EMTA Musicianship Festival.
● The student must volunteer at the Musicianship Festival.
● The student must have performed in two of the following EMTA events: Jazz, Rags & Blues Festival, Music Era Festival, Community Recital, Music Artistry Program (new this year: map is an option, not required), Composition Recital, Musicianship Festival (if used as the second event, students must fully enter).
Note: WSMTA or MTNA contests do not count.
● Your teacher must be available to judge on the day of the awards competition. (Please see the Awards program information sheet for exceptions.)
● For Composition students only: submit three compositions (PDF)
● Submit an essay describing the impact music has had on you. (PDF) 500 words or less - 11/12th grade only
● Have a photo ready to upload for use on the EMTA website for the winners.

11th/12th Grade Applicants must provide a 500 words or less essay on the topic: "“Describe how music has affected your life and what role it will play in your future ". Topics may include important musical events in which you participated, meaningful collaborations, teachers, or experiences.
