    Processing Time:

    We are currently prioritizing Summer School registrations. Processing of 2026–2027 registrations will begin afterward and may take longer than 5 business days. Thank you for your patience.


    Course Access:

    Course access will be provided in late August, when students are placed into classes. Thank you for your patience.

    Confirmation Required:

    At the end of the registration, there is a confirmation.  Please Read.

    Fees & Eligibility:

    Students who are 19 and under and currently registered at a primary school are not charged.
    Adult learners (20+) and students 19 and under who are not currently registered at a primary school are required to pay $625 per core course.
    Non-primary students are eligible to take a maximum of 10 credits per school year.

  • Welcome to the South Alberta High School. 

    At South Alberta High School, we’re passionate about empowering Grades 10–12 students—and adult learners in Alberta—to pursue their academic goals with flexibility and support.  Whether you’re enrolling in full-time studies, individual courses, summer school, our self‑paced online platform offers a variety of Alberta Education curriculum‑aligned programs—from English, Math, and Science to Social Studies—designed to fit your schedule and learning style. We also offer a variety of CTS courses including Career and Life Management (CALM).

  • NOTE: To register, one form of proof of citizenship is mandatory. Acceptable documents include the student’s Birth Certificate, Canadian Citizenship Certificate, Passport, Driver's/Learner's License, Permanent Landed Immigrant document, or any other relevant social document. This documentation must be presented alongside the registration form. A copy will be retained and placed in the student's record for administrative purposes.

    Requiring proof of citizenship when registering for a school in Alberta is a necessary administrative procedure to ensure compliance with regulations, allocate resources effectively, and maintain the integrity of the education system.

    If you do not currently have proper identification, please contact the South Alberta High School office before submitting this form. Temporary registration may be considered, but no official credits, transcripts, or funding can be processed until valid identification is provided.

  • ABORIGINAL LEARNER DATA COLLECTION INITIATIVE (ALDCI)

    Terms: Alberta Education is collecting this personal information pursuant to section 33 (c) of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FOIP) as the information relates directly to and is necessary to meet its mandates and responsibilities to measure system effectiveness and develop policies, programs and services to improve Aboriginal learner success. Alberta school boards are also collecting this information pursuant to the same section in conjunction with section 2(1)(t) of the Student Record Regulation and for the same purposes. This information will be used to determine the provincial First Nation, Métis and Inuit Funding Allocation provided to school authorities.     In some instances, a child may be designated as protected, or may be the subject of a custody or access order, if the Court Order has been issued under the Child Welfare Act, the Domestic Relations Act, the Family Act, or the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

    The School Act defines an independent student as someone who is (i) 18 years of age or older, or, (ii) 16 years of age or older, and (a) who is living independently, or (b) who is a party to an agreement under section 57.2 of the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act.

  • FREEDOM OF INFORMATION AND PRIVACY ACT (FOIP ACT) COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION NOTICE UNDER S.33 OF THE FOIP ACT

    The information collected on this form as part of the school registration process is personal information as referred to in the FOIP Act. This personal information is collected pursuant to the provisions of the School Act and its regulations (e.g. for the establishment of student record, determination of residency) and pursuant to section 33(c) of the FOIP Act as the collection is related directly to and is necessary to a school board’s obligation to provide students with an education program that meets their needs and to provide a safe and secure school environment (e.g. program placement, determination of eligibility and / or suitability for provincial or federal funding, contact and health related information in the event of problems or emergencies). Personal information may also be provided to the Minister of Education for the purpose of carrying out programs, activities, or polices under his administration (e.g. research, statistical analysis).

    Written consent for your child to participate in the activities listed below is not being requested. The school will contact the parents/guardians on the occasions when additional consent is required. Information about your child is collected under the authority of the School Act and/or Alberta’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and can be used in the following ways:

    • The taking of individual, class, team or club photos for school purposes
    • The use of student information, including photos, for identification purposes.
    • The use of students’ names in honour rolls, work ethic (listings), graduation ceremonies, scholarship or other awards within the school or school boards.
    • The use of students’ names and academic information necessary for determining eligibility or suitability for provincial, federal or other types of awards or scholarships in the event the board applies on a student’s behalf
    • The use of students’ names, related contact information and telephone numbers for absenteeism verification.
    • The taking of photos and/or videos of classroom activities, and their use by the media or other organizations where students are not interviewed or identified by name or face. Where individual students are identified or interviewed and the material will be used outside the school specific consent will be required. Please note that photos and / or videos of school activities that are open to the general public may be taken and used for purposes within and outside of the school.
    • The taking of photos / videos of classroom or other school activities by the school board where the material will be used within the school. Where individual students are identified or interviewed and the material will be used outside the school specific additional consent is required.
    • The use of students’ names on artwork or other creative work or material of students displayed at school or school board sites or at a school board sponsored display in the community. (Note that this relates to the Copyright Act (Canada), not the FOIP Act).
