Legal Aid Lifeline is part of the Centre for Family Equity's long-term work to establish quality family law legal aid in BC for low-income survivors of intimate partner violence. As part of this project, we have launched the new Survivors Shaping Services network. This network will carry out an engagement among survivors who have accessed legal aid since January 2025 to gather input on the user experience and further understand the needs of those impacted by intimate partner violence regarding legal aid. Through this network, we aim to provide feedback on legal aid services to impact service delivery innovations in BC. The network is shaped and led by a group of Parent Connectors with lived-experience of legal aid and BC's family law system.
We are now opening a compensated engagement with survivors through online focus groups and one-on-one interviews to gather the experiences of individuals who are impacted by family violence/Intimate Partner Violence and who are currently or have anytime since January 2025 accessed one of Legal Aid BC’s Family Law Centre's or the 25 extended service hours in the existing “tariff model”.
If you are interested in participating in the engagement to share your experience and input to impact on improvements, please fill out this expression of interest and pre-screening form. Filling in this form does not guarantee engagement participation as we must check eligibility. Once you have filled in the form, we will reach out to you about any next steps within a week.
