    The Humane Society of Oakville, Milton & Halton is a resource center that promotes the human/animal bond through education. We emphasize kindness, compassion and respect for all living things. This summer, the shelter is inviting teens ages 14-17 to apply for our one week, volunteer-based Leader in Training Program.
  • Program Overview

    The LIT program offers teens the chance to interact with animals in the shelter while advancing their leadership and teamwork skills. LITs will shadow the camp staff and help to educate campers on topics such as proper animal handling, dog safety and so much more! The partnership with the HSOMH Summer Camp staff allows for constant supervision, direction and feedback, and encourages personal growth! LITs will earn community service hours and grow their resume with new skills and experiences.
  • Location: 445 Cornwall Rd, Oakville ON L6J 7S8

    Mandatory Training Date: Wednesday, July 29 from 12-3pm.

    Camp week schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm.  Camp will not run on any holidays.

    Cost: $175 (once offered a spot)
