Basic Child Passenger Safety (CPS) for Law Enforcement Training

Target Audience: This class is NOT intended for those already certified as CPS Technicians/Instructors. This is for law enforcement officers who have not had any child passenger safety training.

Description: This free, 4-hour class will provide a basic overview of Child Passenger Safety, specifically:
- different types of car seats and installation methods;
- car seat misuse/non use;
- NYS child passenger safety laws;
- roadside interventions;
- community resources
Cost: FREE. Lunch will be provided.

**Please note that this class will not certify you as a CPS Technician, but will rather provide you with a basic/enhanced knowledge of Child Passenger Safety**

*Limited spots available at the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center, located at 108 Parker Avenue. Please keep paved spots parallel to the main entrance free for public use and park in the gravel area across from the main entrance, next to the building below, shown by the angled red arrow. Paved spots around the building by the 9/11 memorial can be used on a first come basis. Additional parking for attendees is also available at: 102 Parker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 (Park along the fenceline in the gravel lot, where the red arrow in lower corner of photo points in the picture below)
