HRDC offers several programs to assist families experiencing homelessness an housing insecurity, including emergency shelter and non-congregate family shelter.
Our family shelter services follow a low-barrier model. There are no eligibility requirements for families to access our services other than the criteria listed below.
To be eligible, households must meet the following criteria:
- Must have at least one dependent child (less than 18 years old) in their primary physical custody, or demonstrate custody will be granted upon access to shelter
- Must be experiencing homelessness (living in a camper, on the street, in a shelter, or in a place not meant for habitation) OR must be at imminent risk of homelessness (will lose housing within 14 days; couch surfing short term with no subsequent residence identified; etc).
- Must be residing in Park, Meagher, or Gallatin counties.

Emergency Family Shelter at Homeward Point
If your family is, or you know of a family, in need of emergency shelter we have private family rooms at our shelter, Homeward Point, located at 208 E Griffin Drive, Bozeman, MT 59715. These rooms are available first come, first serve for nightly services. Check in is at 5pm each night. Intake for new families starts at 4pm. Families are expected to check out at 8am.
Non-Congregate Family Shelter at Wheat Suites
For families in need of longer-term stabilization, Wheat Suites is our family shelter building. Families are able to access case management and other supportive services while they work towards their housing goals.
