Join us for a relaxed and inspiring evening of nature journaling designed for families who love to explore, observe, and create together. Whether you’re an experienced artist or brand‑new to journaling, this event offers a gentle introduction to noticing the natural world in a deeper, more meaningful way.
When:
Tuesday, April 7th: 5:30 - 7:00pm
Where:
Upper James River Center
150 Rocky Hill Road
Madison Heights, VA 24572
What to Expect:
Guided nature walk: We’ll take a slow, kid‑friendly stroll through the area, pausing to observe plants, insects, textures, and seasonal changes.
Creative journaling time: Families will learn simple techniques for sketching, labeling, and writing observations. No artistic experience needed—curiosity is the only requirement.
Hands‑on activities: Including leaf rubbings, color matching, and “tiny world” close‑up studies help spark imagination.
This event is perfect for:
Families with children of any age
Homeschool groups
Nature lovers and budding artists
Anyone looking to slow down and reconnect with the outdoors
What to Bring:
Comfortable shoes, water, and your favorite journal or sketchbook. We’ll provide basic drawing supplies, but feel free to bring your own sketchbook or supplies.Â
