While minors 14 years of age or above are able to volunteer, we require them to have a legal guardian present and volunteering with them. If you would like to register someone who is a minor, please email festival_volunteers@seattleflyingdragons.org to have a Volunteer Coordinator reach out to identify volunteer opportunities.

Parking Attendant: Provide general direction and support to parking lots near the race site). No specific experience or skills necessary.
Registration: Assist with race team check-in, answer questions about the festival. No specific experience or skills necessary.
Merchandise: Support customer purchases using provided phone app and track inventory. Must be responsible, have attention to detail, and a member of the SFDBC Team.
First Aid: Provide non-medical support to the Medic who will be on site (run messages to race coordinators, etc.). No specific experience or skills necessary.
Pre-Marshalling Support:Ensure organization of teams in the pre-marshalling tent, quickly go find teams around the race site to ensure they make it to pre-marshalling on time. Previously experience with dragon boat races recommended but not required.
Marshalling Support:Ensure organization of teams in the marshalling tent; ensure organized walking from the tent to the boat dock; communicate with Dock Marshall as needed. Previously experience with dragon boat races recommended but not required.
Dock Hand: Catch ropes and assist in pulling boats to the dock. Stabilize boat with ropes and ensure that paddlers are able to safely enter/exit the boats. No previous experience required, must be able to lift 40 pounds and frequently crouch and bend.
Starter Helper: Will stay on the boat to assist official starter with boat line ups. Must be comfortable with using loud communication and operate a walkie talkie. must be able to stay on the boat for the duration of the shift (no off-boat breaks).
Timing Tent Helper: Support the official timer on a boat dock. No specific experience required.
Results Runner: Be stationed at a computer; print race results; run results to posting location in Paddler Village. No specific experience required.
Raffle Management: Support the sales of raffle tickets. No prior experience required. Must be a member of the SFDBC team.
Event Site Maintenance:Roam the land site and pick up trash, replace toiletries, report any site issues. No specific experience required.
