Salary: $125,000 – $150,000

Qualifications:
Must possess a bachelor's degree in nursing. MSN, Healthcare Administration, and MBA strongly preferred
Licensure: Current (or eligible) New Mexico RN license required
Experience:
Five years of healthcare experience with at least three years of experience in a leadership role
Prior acute healthcare risk management experience is preferred and can substitute for leadership experience
Experience working in a for-profit hospital strongly preferred
Must possess strong human relations and interpersonal skills
Must-Haves:
Current (or eligible) New Mexico RN license

Job Description
Our client is seeking a Director of Risk to lead and manage all aspects of the organization’s risk management program. This role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risk across the hospital and affiliated clinics, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting overall operational integrity.
The Director of Risk will coordinate risk identification, avoidance, and mitigation strategies by collaborating with leadership, providers, front-end staff, and other key stakeholders. This includes managing active litigation cases, conducting investigations, coordinating interviews and depositions, and gathering legal documentation as required by legal counsel.
This role is responsible for training leaders, providers, and staff on risk management practices, incident reporting, and compliance standards. The Director will oversee the full risk management program, ensuring processes are in place to support patient safety, regulatory compliance, and organizational effectiveness.
In addition, this position serves as the Compliance and Ethics Officer for the facility, ensuring that all practices align with applicable regulations and ethical standards. The Director will work closely with leadership to maintain a proactive, compliant, and responsive risk environment.
This is a full-time exempt position that requires strong leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to manage complex and sensitive situations in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
