Welcome to the 2026 Awakened Education Summit at Teachers College, Columbia University!
We welcome you to submit a proposal for consideration to present at Awakened Education: Engaging the Spiritual Core of the Whole Person. Now in our sixth biennial national and international conference, we will convene on Saturday, October 24, 2026 (offering 10 CTLES) led by the Collaborative for Spirituality in Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.
Awakened Education is a home for the field of spirituality in education from K-12 through University, as we embrace learning and development across the full-life course. We convene to build relationships, exchange practices, insights and research, and foremost offer a vision for supporting the spiritual core in whole person education.
We welcome a foundationally spiritual approach or perspective to education, professional development or system wide growth and change. The conference is unique for its primary focus on spirituality in whole person education and professional growth. We therefore prioritize presentations and workshops that explicitly emphasize and share a deeply considered engagement with the spiritual core.
Categories of Submissions for the Awakened Education Conference:
We invite both individual submissions and groups of contributors in the form of symposia or workshops. Please note that symposia generally include 3-4 presenters. Session time is 50 minutes, with collaborative work given some priority allowing for more presenters to contribute. We particularly welcome elements of in vivo experience intertwined with practice and/or research.

Please note that symposia generally include 3-5 presenters. Presenters may consider the following when crafting their proposals:
- Spiritual Practices
- Leadership/Teachers Training Model
- Policy Perspectives/System Change
- New Research or Innovative Tech
- In Vivo Workshop; In Vivo Experience
