Arts Placement Application (Temporary 2026)
  • Arts Placement Application

Arts Placement is a longstanding WAC program designed to provide artists with exposure through partnerships with downtown businesses and hospitality organizations. The program creates rotating gallery-style exhibits in select locations. Please read the sections below carefully to understand the current call for art and application requirements, as the program is actively evolving and updates are being made throughout the year.
  • Format: (000) 000-0000.
  • READ CAREFULLY:

Arts Placement is a program currently undergoing updates as we plan for future improvements. However, at this time, we need to replace artwork on display in the Explore Boone and Boone Chamber of Commerce buildings. Given this immediate need, please only submit work that is currently available.

You may submit your work by uploading photos to the file dropbox below or by providing a link to a portfolio or collection where your work can be viewed (such as a Google Drive folder or website)

  • Arts Placement: Important Notes Regarding Participation

    1. Submitting this application does not guarantee selection, although we may reach out to you with future opportunities as we see fit.
    2. Artists will be notified via email if they are selected, along with the next steps.
    3. Currently, these exhibits run for 6 months at a time, with the option to renew as long as all parties (WAC, Exhibit host, Artist) are agreeable.
    4. The artist will not remove work without providing a replacement during the duration of the 6-month exhibit.
    5. If selected to exhibit, no repeated inquiries. WAC and host businesses are often busy and may not be able to provide immediate access to sales information or ongoing updates. If sales are made, the artist will be notified.
    6. Works of art may be offered for purchase. Should a work of art sell during the exhibition period, a 30% commission will be due to the Arts Council, and the purchaser may take possession of the work only after the exhibit leaves the exhibit host's premises. The artist agrees to give 10% of the sale of any work sold within six months of the exhibit if the purchaser contacts the artist because they discovered the artist/work at the exhibit host's building.
