Earn-A-Computer is a free, hands-on class that introduces young people ages 8 to 17 to the inner workings and possibilities of computers and the internet — all while getting set to take home a refurbished computer upon successful completion of the course. After completing a consecutive series of six (90-minute) weekly BWorks classes digging into everything from online safety to programming and presentation-building, students receive a refurbished computer of their very own. Students who commit to this series under the guidance of dedicated BWorks instructors will meet at BWorks (2414 Menard Street) at 10 a.m. on Saturdays (with each week's class ending at 11:30 a.m.) from May 2 to June 13 (except for May 23, when there is no class that day due to the Memorial Day weekend). Up to two children from within a single household can commit to the class (please fill out this form twice, once for each child, if registering two). The class is capped at 12 total students, and it's important for everyone who registers to consistently attend and communicate with St. Louis BWorks about this opportunity. (NOTE: The operating system we install is Linux {not Windows or Mac OS}.)
