    Kids will become Challengers, gearing up for frosty games, snowy surprises, and hands-on lessons about resilience and faith. Guided daily by Ollie the Arctic Seal, who is reporting on the events, Challengers aren't just playing games; they learn to draw strength from their faith through powerful stories of courage and hope. With a unique winter games theme filled with snowboards and ski lifts and solid theology at its core, this VBS delivers joy and meaning in equal measure, teaching kids that "I can do all things through him who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13 NRSV).

    Daily Schedule

    5:15 - 6:00 PM Dinner
    6:00 - 6:20 PM VBS Large Group Opening
    6:20 - 8:15 PM Small Groups Station Rotation (Crafts, Recreation, Snacks, Missions, and Chapel)
    8:15 - 8:30 PM VBS Large Group Closing

    Safety

    Please notify us of any allergies your participant may have.
    All exterior doors will be locked for safety. Please go to the main sanctuary door facing RT 340 if you arrive late or need to pick up early.
    All participants will be assigned identification info daily and you must have that information to pick them up.

    Middle and High School Participation Options

    Youth Bed Building - Join the team and construct wooden twin bed frames for local families in our community who are need of beds for their children! Students here will learn to measure, cut, and assemble wooden bed frames. Each year, we build ten beds together during VBS and work closely with Love, INC to distribute them to families in Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County!

    Youth Food Pantry - Join the team and work in the Food Pantry Ministry of Calvary UMC during the week. Students here will sort, box, and package food products in order to distribute the goods to neighbors in Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County!

    Youth Volunteer (Must be a Current Active Youth Group Participant) - Join the team and work with volunteer leaders in rotation stations serving the children attending VBS at Calvary UMC!

    • All volunteers (even Youth Volunteers) are required to attend the VBS 101 class prior to the start of VBS. Please choose a session that works for your schedule! In addition to our VBS 101 we are having a VBS Huddle celebration on Sunday, May 17 at 12:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall. We will celebrate our coming VBS and give everyone a chance to meet with others serving in your area so we can ask and answer questions and do any final planning. Lunch will be provided and the huddle will last about an hour. We hope that everyone will be able to join us for this fun VBS kick off!*
