PTO POLICIES
Volunteering With Your Student
Students are welcome to assist during volunteer opportunities as it helps teach the importance of community involvement and the ILTexas mission of “Others Before Self.” Students who accompany a volunteer must either actively help with the assigned task or remain seated and respectfully entertain themselves. Students may not use volunteer time to run around campus, disrupt others, disrespect volunteers or staff, or damage school property.
Volunteering = NOT above the School Rules
PTO membership and volunteer status do not exempt individuals from campus policies, school rules, volunteer expectations, or directions given by school staff or administrators. All volunteers and PTO members are expected to model respectful, professional, and cooperative behavior while on campus or representing the PTO.
Respecting Staff Direction
If a staff member tells you “no,” volunteers are expected to respect that decision and may not seek a different answer from another staff member. If you believe the direction conflicts with PTO guidance or prior communication, please email execboard@iltexascsk8pto.org so the PTO Executive Board can review the situation appropriately.
3PM–4PM Front Office Closure
The front office is closed daily from 3PM–4PM to support driveline dismissal. Volunteers must arrive before 3PM or wait until after 4PM, and students may not be checked out during this time, even if assisting with a volunteer shift.
Respect for School Property
Volunteers are expected to leave all school property as they found it. Do not use staples or materials that may damage walls, paint, or school property. All areas must be cleaned after use, and trash should be properly disposed of in the dumpster when volunteer activities are complete.
