- Anson County residents will have first priority to sell. Vendors who confirm participation by the deadline get first priority.
- All vendors are limited to one stall unless vacancy exists.
- Vendors are expected to maintain neat and orderly stall cleaned of all trash at the end of each market day.
- Each vendor is expected to help keep the market clean and orderly, including, but not limited to, bathrooms and kitchen.
- Vendors are to back into stalls to unload. If the space is rented by more than one participant, one car must park in the parking lot.
- Set up is allowed to begin one hour prior to the market opening. Vendors are to be present, set up and ready for customers no more than thirty minutes after the market opens. Failing to do so may result in loss of table for the day.
- Vendors are to stay until closing unless sold out. If you need to leave early, please notify the market manager in advance.
- Opening and closing times along with daily rental rates and membership fees are subject to change at the market manager’s discretion.
- No subletting of vendor space. If a vendor is sending their agent as outlined in the by-laws to sell their items, they must notify the market manager of this change no less than 24 hours prior to the market opening.
- Anson County, Anson County Farmers Market Assoc., nor the market manager shall be responsible for any loss of property through theft or otherwise. Anson County, Anson County Farmers Market Assoc., nor the market manager shall be responsible for personal injury or damage to private property.
- See the market manager before using the cooler, refrigerator, or freezer to store items.
- The market shall have a manager or designee, the responsibilities of this role will be outlined in the ACFM Market Managers Job Description including but not limited to collecting fees/dues, solving disputes, enforcing rules, and for general market information.
- The market manager is entitled to one complimentary stall.
- There will be no reselling of items allowed. All items sold must be handmade or homegrown by the seller with the exception of selling produce that has been locally grown by another farmer.
- The market allows the selling of produce, nuts, potted plants, plant starts, hanging baskets, home preserved foods, home baked goods, eggs, meats, cheese, butter, and handcrafted items. All items are to be sold in accordance with NC/Federal laws where applicable. All items are to be properly labeled in accordance with NC/Federal laws. It is each vendor’s responsibility to know and adhere to these laws.
- No vendor shall sell products that are not of good quality and that do not meet NC guidelines to sell such items. All NC laws applying to weights, measures, markings of containers, sanitation, and other legal requirements are to be followed to the fullest by all vendors. All scales must have a current inspection by NCDA. It is each vendor’s responsibility to know and adhere to these laws.
- Each vendor is responsible for his/her own records, taxes and compliance.
- All vendors are responsible for the actions of any employees, agents or others who may be selling or in attendance with them at the market.
- No person shall damage or deface the building, pavement, or the physical equipment of the market. Anyone who does this is liable for the repairs or replacement of damaged property.
- No person shall distribute, scatter about, or post on the property any advertising, signs, pamphlets, cards or other printed material without the consent of the market manager. No political campaigning.
- Fraudulent, dishonest, or deceptive practices carried out by a vendor while at the market are punishable by revocation of permission to sell at the Anson County Farmers Market without refund of fees.
- Vendors of the market must not approach a buyer with the purpose of making a sale while said buyer is in conversation with another vendor.
- Vendors must compile all items being sold to the space leased by them.
- Children under 12 years of age are to be accompanied by an adult at all times. No running. No bikes or similar devices allowed.
- Leave the middle walkway open for customers. Keep the walkways clear of items and debris.
- There will be no consumption of alcoholic beverages on the premises. Sales and sampling by licensed producers is allowed.
- The farmer’s market is for the benefit of all citizens without regard to race, ethnic origin, creed, age, sex, or residence. The market facility is owned by Anson County Government and is leased to the Anson County Farmers Market Association.
- The Anson County Farmers Market Association may allow other organizations and individuals to use the facility for beneficial community activities. Arrangements for its use must be made through the market manager and approved by the ACFM Board of Directors.
- Membership dues for 2026 are $20.00. Membership begins the day dues are received and ends the day before the following year’s annual members meeting. This fee is due upon arrival at the vendor’s first day of participation. At this time if the member would like to request a specific open table / stall for the season they may do so for an additional one-time fee of $10.00. Otherwise, tables/stalls are provided on first come first serve basis and rules for set up and notification of attendance as defined in rule 6 still apply with this option. Daily rental of table/stall is $10.00. This fee is due upon arrival of vendors each day of participation.
- Visiting vendors who would like to try the market may rent a table/stall at a rate of 20.00 per event no more than twice per season. Any attendance beyond those two events would require the fees for membership and attendance listed in rule 29. Fees collected from these two events would not be applied towards membership.
- Price of items for sale at the market will be determined by the competitive free marketplace with asking prices set by the individual vendors. Anson County Farmers Market Association will not set prices.
- The farmers market manager may decide whether or not to allow reselling of produce from state markets depending on the market’s need. This will be held to a minimum. If allowed, the vendor must display signage that indicated what produce was purchased at NC/SC markets.
- No smoking, vaping, or other tobacco products are allowed on the premises.
- Vendors are responsible for their pets/service animals. Pets/service animals are to be controlled and on a leash at all times.
- Food vendors are responsible for taking all their trash with them when leaving the farmers’ market.
**Any vendor who blatantly disregards the market rules will first be given a verbal warning. At the second offence, the vendor will be given a written warning. At the third offence, the vendor will be removed from the 2026 market vendor roster without refund of any payments. The vendor will not be allowed to participate in any Anson County Farmers Market Events for the rest of the 2026 season.
2026 Fees:
- $20.00 yearly membership due at your first attendance
- $10.00 to request a specific table for the season (see market rule 29 for details)
- $10.00 due at the beginning of each market attendance
- $20.00 visiting vendor (2 events max per season - see market rule 30 for details)
