Creative Greensboro will hold auditions for “Bye Bye Birdie,” a musical comedy with Book by Michael Stewart, Music by Charles Strouse, L yrics by Lee Adams and directed by Todd Fisher, Wesley McCleary and Carrie Plew. Auditions will be held on Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5, from 7-9 pm in the Stephen D Hyers theatre at the Greensboro Cultural Center, 200 N. Davie St. Actors ages 12 and older of all experience levels, genders, ethnicities, or racial identities are welcome to register for an audition. Actors should prepare 16 bars of a contemporary Broadway musical to sing for their audition. Accompanment is provided, or bring your own audio recording. All actors will be asked to participate in a brief movement audition. Actors are asked not to audition with a song from “Bye, Bye Birdie.” Rehearsals are in the evenings and on weekends as schedules permit. Performances will take place June 25-28. We will accept video submission only for actors that cannot make it to the primary audition call. You must be available fo May 6 call back to be considered for a pricipal role. We will only cast pricipal actors based on those who we have seen in person. Live accompainment is prefered for Self Taping.
Creative Greensboro’s drama programming provides the community opportunities to participate in all aspects of live theater, from auditioning, casting, rehearsals, stage management, and performance.
