2026-2027 Core Program Application
Leadership New Mexico’s Core Program is a 10-month, statewide leadership experience for established leaders who are committed to serving New Mexico with integrity, curiosity, and purpose. As Leadership New Mexico’s flagship program, Core brings together senior leaders from across sectors to deepen their understanding of the systems, communities, and challenges shaping our state, while building trusted relationships that strengthen collaboration and impact.
Instructions for Completing the Application:
Admission to the Core Program is highly competitive, and each year a limited number of applicants are selected from a strong pool of accomplished leaders across the state. Applicants are required to complete all sections of the application in full, as incomplete applications will not be considered. As part of the process, applicants must submit a current résumé, two letters of recommendation or nomination (preferably from Leadership New Mexico alumni) that speak to their leadership experience, character, and readiness for the program, as well as information about their professional background, leadership roles, and community involvement. A brief statement of interest is also required, outlining the applicant’s reasons for applying and their commitment to the program. Applicants should be prepared to fully participate in all program sessions if selected. Those selected will be notified by email and provided with next steps, including tuition information, program logistics, and key deadlines. All application materials must be submitted by May 29, 2026; late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted.

Program Policies & Agreements
In this section, you will review and acknowledge the Core Program’s expectations, policies, and required commitments for participation.
If accepted into the Core Program, the participant, financial sponsor, and/or employer will be billed for the tuition fee of $4,000, which includes all program costs, materials, meals, and transportation during sessions. Participants are responsible for lodging and transportation costs to and from sessions. Who will pay for your tuition?

I understand that attendance at the opening retreat and graduation is mandatory, and that missing more than one of the remaining five sessions for any reason will result in automatic dismissal from the program without a refund of tuition.
