August 5 & 6, 2026
Open to children ages 11-14.

DAY 1 [Aug. 5]: Classroom Day at King Tech High School. Topics include River Landscapes and Culture, Salmon Anatomy and Dissection, Salmon Habitat, Casting & Knot Tying, and Cold Water Boating and Bear Safety!

DAY 2 [Aug. 6]: Fishing Day in Soldotna! This all-day event provides water safety, lunch, a free life jacket and fishing on Coast Guard certified powerboats with professional river guides.

Bus transportation is provided to and from Anchorage on fishing day

A minimum of one chaperone per four children is required for Day 2 (River Day). Chaperones must remain with and supervise their assigned group for the duration of the day, beginning at departure from Anchorage. Chaperones will accompany participants on the boat but cannot fish.
