Buyer has 72 hours to have puppy examined by their veterinarian.
If a serious health issue is identified within that time, buyer must notify breeder immediately.
Health Guarantee:
Hounds With Halos LLC guarantees that each puppy is in good health at the time of placement. All puppies will:
- Be examined by a licesned veterinarian prior to placement
- Receive age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming
- Be free from any known life-threatening conditions at the time of transfer
72-Hour Check
The buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of pickup. If a serious health condition is identified during this time:
- Buyer must notify breeder immediately
- Documentation from a licensed veterinarian must be provided
Failure to complete a veterinarian exam within 72 hours will void this portion of the health guarantee.
Genetic Health Guarantee
This puppy is guaranteed against life-threatening hereditary or congenital defects for a period of 1 year from the date of birth. If such a condition is diagnosed:
- Written documentation from a licensed veterinarian is required
- A second opinion may be requested at breeders discretion
Remedy may include:
- Replacement puppy from a future litter
Exclusions
This health guarantee does NOT cover:
- Minor or non-life threatening conditions
- Conditions related to environment, neglect, injury, or diet
- Parasites or common puppy illnesses after transfer
- Behavioral or training-related concers
Dental development conditions, including but not limited to retained/deciduous (puppy) teeth, delayed tooth eruption, or duplicate teeth. As a small-breed program, certain developmental variations such as retained puppy teeth may occur and are considered normal and manageable.
While every effor is made to produce healthy, well-balanced puppies, certain neurological conditions such as seizures can arise without a known or preventable cause and therore are not covered under this guarantee.
Buyer Responsibilty
The buyer agrees to:
- Provide proper veterinary care
- Maintain vaccinations and preventative care
- Provide appropriate environment safety including but not limited to:
- Ramps or stairs to prevent jumping off furniture, vehicles, or elevated surfaces
- Supervise interactions with children and other animals
- Maintain a safe, clean, and secure living environment
- Prevent access to hazards including toxic foods, chemicals, and unsafe objects
- Ensure the puppy is not left unattended in unsafe outdoor environments
- Provide appropriate nutrition including but not limited to:
- Provide a high-quality, appropriate diet for small-breed dogs
- Avoid sudden changes in diet without proper transition
- Maintain appropriate body condition (not underweight or overweight)
- Provide access to clean, fresh water at all times
- Training and structure:
- Provide consistent structure, training, and leadership
- Continue socialization and exposure in a safe manner
- Avoid allowing behaviors that may lead to injury or instability
- Health Maintenance
- Seek veterinariy care promptly if illness or injury occurs
- Follow veterinarian recommendations for care and treatment
- Maintain routine parasite prevention
- Limitations
- Not allow excessive jumping, rough handling, or unsafe activity that could result in injury
- Not delay necessary medical care
Buyer understands that proper structured environment, and care play a critical role in the long-term health, behavior, and development of the dog.
