    The Plainsight Weyburn Art Collective welcomes entries into the Juried Weyburn Art Festival. This Festival is a Celebration of our talented Artisans that reside in our area.

  • Terms and Conditions:

    1. Applications will be accepted until April 22/26.

    2. Open to Weyburn and Rural areas.

    3. Do not send any money until you have been accepted into the Art Festival.

    4. Acceptance into the Festival and payment information will be provided by April 29/26 to the email address that you have provided on this form. 

    5. Payment is required by May 6/26. E-transfer will be the preferred method of payment. If this is not available to you, please contact the above email address. 

    6. All booths are $50.00. 

    7. Booths are 10 feet. Tables (8 feet by 30 inches) and 2 chairs will be provided. 

    8. All tables will be assigned. 

    9. Individuals must agree to paying for one table except for  Art/Craft Clubs or Groups: they may purchase one or more tables.

    10. Please bring your own table cover. 

    11. Please indicate whether you require electricity and bring your own extension cord. 

    12. The Plainsight Art Collective assumes no responsibility for theft, or damage to your craft/art during the Festival.

  • Criteria for Admission:

    As this is a juried show and sale, please give an additional description of your work, including information about the process used to create your artwork.

    Craft/Art article must: 

    1. Be the original idea and creation of the craftsperson or a skillful rendering of a traditional or classic design. Reproductions of traditional or classical designs must be labelled as such.

    2. Be the original design in all products offered at the Art Festival. Commercial patterns must be used with discretion. If used as the basis for product design in any media, this must be indicated on the jurying application form. Basic patterns must be substantially altered before the product is acceptable.
    ·        Show understanding of the properties and limitations of the materials as well as competent methods of construction.

    3. Be skillfully finished. The level of technique involved, and the design in terms of its function, will be considered in the evaluation of the overall quality of any given piece.

    4. Be well designed both technically and aesthetically and be capable of serving the purpose for which it was designed.

    5. The article must have warning labels or tags accompanying the article e.g., “Raku pottery is not food safe”. 

    6. The artist is responsible for obtaining and complying with government safety and health regulations.


    Craft/Art article may be:

    1. Kits prepared by the artist for assembly by the purchaser.

    2. Commercially produced reproductions of original art, i.e., postcards, notecards, or numbered poster/prints.
     

    Craft/Art article must not be: 

    1. Created with the use of commercial kits.

    2. Created totally by Artificial Intelligence. 

    3.  Assembled by simple methods of commercially available parts as opposed to skillful manipulation of materials. Ready-made parts or components are permitted only if they are subordinate to the total design and craftsmanship of the article.
     

    All applications will be reviewed by the Festival committee jury. Jury committee decisions will be considered final. Artists will be notified on approval
