    Participant Agreement & Community Standards

This Participant Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into between Emily Iannuzzelli (“Facilitator”) and __________________ (“Participant”) for participation in the Embodied Comedy Program.

Embodied Comedy is an educational, experiential program integrating improvisation, embodiment practices, and nervous system awareness. It is not therapy, medical treatment, or teacher training.

By enrolling, Participant agrees to the following:

    1. SCOPE OF PROGRAM

    Embodied Comedy is:

    • An educational and experiential group program
    • A facilitated container for creative exploration and embodied presence

    Embodied Comedy is NOT:

    • Therapy or mental health treatment
    • Medical care or psychological counseling
    • A teacher training track or certification

Participation does not grant the right to teach, replicate, or adapt this curriculum. All facilitation authority rests solely with Emily Iannuzzelli.

    2. PAYMENT, REFUNDS & COMMITMENT

Enrollment is a commitment to the full experience.

    • All payments are non-refundable
    • No refunds will be issued for missed classes, partial attendance, or withdrawal for any reason
    • Enrollment is non-transferable and may not be deferred to a future cohort
    • Missed classes may not be made up or credited

If Participant selects a payment plan, if available, all payments remain due regardless of attendance or completion.

Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute constitutes a breach of this Agreement.

    3. ATTENDANCE & PARTICIPATION

Consistency is essential to the integrity of the group container.

    Participant agrees to:

    • Attend all sessions
    • Miss no more than one (1) class, except in the case of emergency
    • Provide at least 12 hours notice to Facilitator in the event of an absence

Emergencies will be considered at Facilitator discretion.

    Arrival & Timing

Participant agrees to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.

    • Doors will close at the scheduled start time
    • Late arrival may result in denial of entry for that session
    • Arrival 15 minutes early is required to ensure participation

End times are approximate and sessions may run slightly over depending on the flow of the work. Participant agrees to plan accordingly.

    4. COMMUNITY CONTAINER AGREEMENTS

Embodied Comedy functions through shared responsibility.

    Presence

    • Participants are required to maintain full presence during class
    • No phone use during sessions
    • Active participation in exercises
    • Completion of assigned homework between sessions
    • No talking when others are speaking or in scene work

Participant understands that the value of the program is directly related to their level of engagement. Participant understands that discomfort is not the same as unsafety and agrees to engage to the fullest extent within their own capacity.

    Self-Responsibility & Consent

    • Before engaging in any suggested activity, Participant agrees to internally evaluate consent.
    • Participant is never required to participate in an exercise they do not consent to.
    • If Participant engages in an activity, it will be assumed that they have consented.

Let your yes mean yes. Let your no mean no.

“Yes, and” applies to scene work — not to personal boundaries.

    Content Boundaries

Embodied Comedy encourages creative freedom and full self-expression.

At the same time, the following content is not permitted within the container:

    • Racism
    • Sexism
    • Discrimination of any kind
    • Harassment
    • Pedophilia or sexual content involving minors

Facilitator reserves the right to interrupt, redirect, or stop any scene or exercise that includes harmful or inappropriate content.

Participants who engage in this content may be removed from the program without refund.

    Confidentiality

Because some exercises may draw from personal material, Participant agrees:

Not to share personal disclosures of others outside the container
To maintain confidentiality of sensitive group content

    Communication

If something feels unclear, uncomfortable, or activating, Participant agrees:

    • To bring concerns directly to Facilitator or Assistant
    • Not to triangulate concerns through other participants before addressing Facilitator

This supports clarity, safety, and integrity within the container.

    5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All curriculum, frameworks, exercises, language, recordings, and materials are the sole intellectual property of Emily Iannuzzelli.

    Participant agrees not to:

    • Teach, replicate, distribute, or represent this curriculum as their own
    • Adapt or reproduce material in workshops, classes, or coaching
    • Record sessions or share materials externally

This program is not a teacher training.

Participant may not use Embodied Comedy teachings or practices in their own teaching without prior written consent.

    6. ASSUMPTION OF RISK & LIABILITY

Participant acknowledges that the program includes:

    • Physical movement
    • Improvisational exercises
    • Emotional exploration
    • Expression work

Participant agrees not to pursue legal action related to ordinary risks inherent in interactive group activities.

Participant voluntarily assumes full responsibility for participation and releases Facilitator from liability for injury, loss, or damages, except in cases of gross negligence. Participant understands that interactive group activities may involve light physical movement and emotional reflection.  By engaging these services, Participant agrees to release and hold harmless Emily Iannuzzelli from claims, liability, or damages arising from ordinary risks associated with participation, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Participant affirms they are mentally and emotionally capable of participating in a group experiential setting and will seek appropriate professional support outside the program if needed.

    7. MEDIA RELEASE

Participant acknowledges that designated portions of class may be photographed or recorded for educational, promotional, or commercial use.

Participant grants Facilitator the right to:

    • Use photos, video, and excerpts in marketing and educational materials
    • Edit, reproduce, and distribute such materials without compensation

Sharing circles and personal disclosures will not be recorded.

Participant may opt out of promotional media use by notifying Facilitator in writing within 5 days before the start of the first class.

    8. PROFESSIONAL BOUNDARIES

    Participant agrees not to:

    • Represent themselves as a teacher or facilitator of Embodied Comedy
    • Market themselves as trained in this methodology
    • Make public statements that misrepresent or harm the program or Facilitator

    9. TRANSPORTATION & PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

    Participant is responsible for:

    • Their own transportation to and from class
    • Monitoring their physical and emotional capacity
    • Choosing their level of participation in all exercises

    10. PROGRAM MODIFICATIONS

Facilitator reserves the right to make reasonable adjustments to scheduling, format, or content due to illness, emergency, or circumstances beyond control.

    11. REMOVAL FROM PROGRAM

Facilitator reserves the right to remove a Participant from the program if their behavior, participation, or conduct is disruptive to the group container or violates the agreements outlined above.

In such cases, no refund will be issued.

    12. GOVERNING LAW

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Maryland.

    13. ACKNOWLEDGMENT
