    Making Your Mark:
    The Art of Soft Pastels

    Wednesday, June 10
    1 - 3:00 pm
    $25.00

You are invited to enjoy the beauty of painting with soft pastels, whether you are trying them for the first time or you are an experienced artist. Soft pastels are made with the same pigment as watercolors or oils, but formed into a stick rather than applied as a liquid. They are still called paintings if most of the paper is covered with pastel pigment.

During the 2-hour class, students will experiment with different types of soft pastels and paper to discover what methods and styles of painting help them develop confidence and creativity. In this session, we will emphasize painting with variations of blue to create a Sea & Sky landscape. All materials will be provided to complete a 4”x 6” painting (frame not included).

Helen Kleczynski been painting with soft pastels for over 20 years. She is a Master Pastelist with the Pastel Society of America and has achieved Master Circle Status with the International Association of Pastel Societies.
