  • HAPI in Africa is a curated, multi-country pilgrimage through West and North Africa, designed to reconnect participants with History, Culture, Spirituality, and Community.

  • This is the ultimate HAPI experience. A complete and immersive journey across Senegal, Ghana, Togo, and Morocco, bringing together every layer of ancestral exploration, cultural education, and spiritual alignment into one powerful pilgrimage.

  • Traveling through these regions, you will engage in sacred reflection, immersive learning, and meaningful connection, while also creating intentional space for celebration, excitement, laughter, beauty, and joy along the way. From the powerful history of Gorée Island and the Museum of Black Civilizations in Senegal, to the vibrant cultural landscapes of Ghana and Togo, and the rich Moorish legacy of Morocco, including Casablanca and Marrakesh. THIS experience is both grounding and expansive.

  • As part of this journey, you will also take part in the Morocco experience guided by esteemed historian Robin Walker, offering deeper insight into the history and global impact of the Moors. This is a powerful and enriching dimension unique to this full pilgrimage.

  • Below is an overview of what is included in this transformative, multi-country pilgrimage.
  • Your tour package includes:

    • All international and regional airline flights associated with the group itinerary (Please note that we depart from Newark, New Jersey airport and return to the New York, JFK airport)
    • Hotel accommodations throughout the journey
    • Two meals per day (breakfast and one additional meal, unless otherwise noted), except in Morocco, where breakfast is included and additional meals are the responsibility of the traveler.
    • Air-conditioned ground transportation in each country
    • Entrance fees to scheduled historical, cultural, and sacred sites
    • Experienced, English-speaking tour guides and on-the-ground support staff
    • Group coordination and logistical support provided by Akhet Tours Inc. & HAPI, Inc.
  • Not included / traveler responsibility:

    • Visa fees for Ghana & Togo. No visa is required for travelers holding U.S. passports to visit Senegal or Morocco. (Visa requirements for other nationalities may vary.)
    • Vaccinations and medical requirements – All the countries we're visiting required the yellow fever vaccination
    • Beverages, including bottled water, soda and alcoholic drinks
    • Gratuities/tips for guides, drivers, and service staff across all three countries are not included. A total of $150 USD per traveler is required to cover all group gratuities for the duration of the journey. This amount will be collected at the pre-departure orientation meeting or at the airport prior to departure. Additional personal tipping is optional.

  • Senegal: In Senegal, we will explore powerful sites of history and cultural pride, including Gorée Island, where we will reflect on the legacy of the transatlantic slave trade, the African Renaissance Monument, and the Museum of Black Civilizations, which celebrates the global contributions of African people.

  • Ghana: In Ghana, we will visit the historic slave dungeons along the Cape Coast, honoring ancestral memory and resilience, while also experiencing moments of celebration and cultural connection. A traditional naming ceremony is one of many meaningful experiences designed to deepen your relationship with the land and its people.

  • Togo: In Togo, we will explore key national landmarks such as the Independence Monument and immerse ourselves in the energy of local markets, offering a glimpse into daily life and culture. These experiences are part of a broader journey filled with discovery, connection, and surprises along the way.

  • Morocco: In Morocco, we will journey through Casablanca and Marrakesh, exploring the rich and influential history of the Moors, guided by esteemed historian Robin Walker, who will provide deep insight into their legacy, contributions, and global impact. Travelers will also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Morocco's vibrant culture by exploring the famous souk markets, filled with artisan goods, textiles, and traditional craftsmanship. For those seeking relaxation and rejuvenation, optional experiences such as a traditional hammam spa treatment will be available, offering a moment to unwind and restore in an authentic Moroccan setting.

  • Please note: This overview highlights select experiences and is not a complete itinerary. A detailed, day-by-day itinerary will be shared with confirmed travelers as we get closer to departure.

  • The trip price is $7500.00 for double occupancy and $8500.00 for single occupancy (there is a $1000.00 single supplement charge). A minimum deposit of $300.00 is required (non refundable) for all reservations. The total fare must be received no later than 30 days (July 20, 2026) prior to departure. A minimum of half (Double: $3,600 & Single: $4100) the total trip price must be made by May 1, 2026.

  • Visa & Passport Requirements: All travelers are responsible for obtaining the required Ghanaian and Togolese visas prior to departure. A valid passport (with adequate validity and blank pages) is required for entry into all countries on this itinerary. Travelers holding U.S. passports—and most other nationalities—do not require visas for this journey. For travelers who do not hold a U.S. passport, visa requirements may vary based on nationality. Detailed guidance will be provided upon registration to ensure all necessary travel documents are obtained prior to departure.

    • Ghana Visa: Travelers must apply for their Ghana visa independently. Applications are processed through the Ghana Embassy. Instructions and timing will be provided, and applications must be submitted once the application window opens (Apply by July 1, 2026). Apply at: https://newyork.mfa.gov.gh
    • Togo Visa: Togo visa applications may be submitted no more than 20 days prior to departure (Apply by August 1, 2026). Apply at: https://voyage.gouv.tg
    • To ensure a smooth process, Akhet Tours will provide detailed step-by-step visa instructions via email, host a Zoom information session, and remain available to support travelers throughout the visa application process. Please note that all visa fees are the responsibility of the traveler.
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination Requirement: Please note that all travelers aged 9 months and older entering Senegal, Ghana, Togo & Morocco are required to present proof of a valid Yellow Fever vaccination. The vaccination must have been administered within the last 10 years to be considered valid for entry into Ghana, Senegal, Morocco and Togo. In addition, the Yellow Fever vaccine must be received at least 12 days prior to arrival in either country.

  • Travelers are responsible for ensuring compliance with this requirement and for carrying
    their International Certificate of Vaccination (Yellow Card) during travel.
  • Failure to complete requirements (VISA & VACCINATIONS) for entry into Ghana, Morocco, Senegal & Togo is solely your responsibility, and HAPI Inc. & Akhet Tours Inc. will not be held liable for any travel disruptions, denied entry, health issues, or additional costs incurred due to lack of proper documentation or immunizations. Please plan accordingly.

  • General terms and conditions: Reservations are only considered definite upon receipt of all required registration forms and the deposit of $300.00. Payments may be made by Cash, check, money order, credit card, Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, PayPal, website (Akhettours.com) or a Bank wire transfer. ***Please note that there will be a 3.5% processing fee for all DEBIT/CREDIT & PayPal transactions***

  • Cancellations: We all understand that plans can change due to unforeseen circumstances and as such it's highly recommended that you protect your investment through the purchase of Travel Insurance. The cancellation policy is that if you cancel your trip for any reason, you may be subject to a 100% cancellation.
     

  • Postponement Policy: Akhet Tours Inc. reserves the right to postpone the trip at any time. In the event the trip is postponed, Akhet Tours Inc. will work diligently to reschedule the trip to a later date and time that is suitable for travel. This program is automatically included for all travelers and will be enacted if your trip is postponed, for any reason, including terrorism, pandemics, or other world events. If the new dates are not suitable for your travel plans you may with an Akhet Tours Inc. representative to find a new date.  You will receive a transferable Future Travel Voucher in the amount of all monies paid for the original tour, less the cost of any purchased Travel Insurance/Protection plan.

  • It is strongly recommended that you purchase Trip Cancellation/Interruption insurance and additional Cancel for Any Reason Coverage. Such a plan at a minimum should cover Trip Cancellation or Interruption, Cancel for Any Reason, Medical Expense, Emergency Evacuation/Repatriation, and Baggage.

  • Travel protection plans can help protect you in the event of loss of non-refundable trip deposits and payments that result from cancellation or trip interruption (due to a covered reason such as injury or illness before or during the trip). It also helps with reimbursement for medical emergency costs (including very costly medical evacuation costs), missed connections and baggage loss. It can also cover additional fees incurred for changes or rescheduling. Purchasing coverage may be limited by time constraints so it is imperative that you purchase protection as soon as possible after booking.

  • Declining travel protection plan coverage could result in the loss of your travel cost and/or require more money to correct the situation. You acknowledge that without this coverage,

  • there may be no way to recoup any losses, costs or expenses incurred. If you choose to travel without adequate coverage, we will not be liable for any of your losses however arising, for which trip protection plan coverage would otherwise have been available.

    • I understand that Travel Protection Coverage can protect me from possible loss of money due to supplier bankruptcy/default, unexpected trip cancellation/interruption due to accident, sickness or death, baggage loss, medical expenses, and emergency air transportation costs that other insurance, policies and credit card programs may not cover.

  • Airline Information: Airlines do not allow us to assign seats directly; however, we are able to submit seat preferences on behalf of each traveler. Please note that all seat requests are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

  • Flights to and from Africa are approximately 10-11 hours in duration and typically include two in-flight meals. The group will travel directly from the U.S. to Africa. Please note that there will be layovers between Ghana and Senegal.

  • All flights are coordinated by Akhet Tours Inc. If you are flying with a different airline or combining this trip with another itinerary. PLEASE CONTACT AKHET TOURS TO ENSURE COORDINATION.
