Thank you for your interest in becoming a Jurisdictional Officer for Missouri DeMolay. Thoughtful time and consideration should be given to this process. If you have any questions during the application process, please contact the Jurisdictional Officer Committee via email at jo-committee@modemolay.org. All applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 10. If you are selected for an interview, information regarding the interview process will be shared with you no later than April 17. Interviews will take place via Zoom and will tentatively take place April 20-24. If offered an interview, you will be expected to reply with your availability by April 17. Any follow-up information regarding your application will be sent to the email address you provide on this application.

As a leader within your chapter, you are looked up to and seen as a role model by your fellow brothers, advisors, and peers. What are some ways you inspire those around you to be better overall leaders and individuals?
What has been a difficult challenge you've had to face? How were you able to adapt and overcome that challenge?
What do you personally see as the biggest challenge facing Missouri DeMolay today? If selected as a Jurisdictional Officer, what will you be willing to do to meet this challenge?
As a Jurisdictional Officer, you may be asked to travel long distances, stay up late to attend meetings and events, dedicate time for weekend and/or out-of-state travel, and work with committees frequently every week. Do you see yourself having enough time to commit to these tasks without it affecting your education, personal, and social life? How do you plan to manage?

Mandatory Events for Jurisdictional Officers

Jurisdictional Officer Retreat (TBD / April - June) - Masonic Youth Day (August) - Missouri DeMolay Convention (Memorial Day Weekend) - Leaders Academy (December-February) - Missouri DeMolay Honors Night (Varies) - State Officers' Reception (Varies) - Regular Chapter Visitations (Meetings, Installations, Events)
As a Jurisdictional Officer, the above events are mandatory to attend. In addition, certain events may be added at the discretion of the State Master Councilor or Executive Officer. Do you understand that the events listed above are mandatory and that you are required to attend them if selected to be a Jurisdictional Officer?
As a Jurisdictional Officer, you will be required to attend monthly JO Meetings held via Zoom. On occasion, JO meetings may be held in person. Do you understand that if selected to be a JO you are required to attend all JO meetings?
As a Jurisdictional Officer, it is important that you have the support of your parent/guardian. We encourage you to speak to them before submitting this application. If selected to be a Jurisdictional Officer, you and your parent/guardian will be asked to review the Jurisdictional Officer Covenant and sign a form acknowledging their receipt and pledging their support for you. By submitting this application, I attest that I have spoken to my parent/guardian about the importance of their support, and I have advised them of their responsibility to commit such support in writing if I am selected. If the support of my parent/guardian is withheld, I understand that I may not continue as a Jurisdictional Officer for Missouri DeMolay.

The 7 Precepts of DeMolay guide us in becoming the best versions of ourselves. If you were to create an 8th Precept, what would it be, and how would it enhance your role as a Jurisdictional Officer? In this essay, reflect on your personal experiences and explain how this new precept would contribute to your growth and help your brethren become more refined individuals.

Letters of Recommendation
You must secure at least two (2) Letters of Recommendation in support of your application. These MUST NOT be from relatives of yours.

The Letters of Recommendation must adhere to the following:

- One Letter of Recommendation must be from your Advisory Council. This letter MUST be signed by at least two (2) members of your Advisory Council. It DOES NOT have to be signed by your Chapter Dad or Advisory Council Chairman, but IT MUST be signed by at least two (2) registered advisors of your primary Chapter's Advisory Council.

- The second Letter of Recommendation can come from an educator, community leader (e.g., elected official, business person, first responder, law enforcement, etc.), or member of the clergy.

ALL LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION MUST BE RECEIVED BY 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026.
