Workshop Title
Workshop Objectives - Please choose the training track that best describes your presentation.
Leadership & Agency Management - Focuses on equipping leaders with the knowledge and skills to build equitable, accountable, and human rights‑centered organizations. Training emphasizes inclusive leadership practices, ethical decision‑making, trauma‑informed management, and strategies to cultivate organizational cultures that model civil and human rights principles in daily operations.
Civil Rights Enforcement - Provides participants with a clear understanding of civil rights laws, investigative standards, and enforcement processes. Training covers recognizing discriminatory practices, conducting impartial investigations, evaluating evidence, and applying legal frameworks to ensure fair outcomes. Emphasis is placed on the role practitioners play in protecting individual rights and advancing systemic fairness.
Policy & Legislative Developments – Participants will understand how policies and laws are created, interpreted, and implemented within a civil and human rights context. Training explores legislative trends, policy analysis techniques, and methods for assessing the impact of proposed changes on marginalized communities. Participants gain skills to engage effectively in policy advocacy and to integrate human rights‑based perspectives into decision‑making.
Fair Housing - Provides instruction on the core principles of fair housing laws, discriminatory housing patterns, and best practices for compliance and enforcement. Training includes case examples, scenario-based learning, and tools for identifying disparate treatment, disparate impact, addressing complaints, and conducting outreach that supports housing equity and community inclusivity.
Social Justice & Community Impact - Focuses on understanding structural inequities and the social conditions that shape community experiences. Sessions will equip participants to engage diverse communities respectfully, build trust, foster collaborative problem‑solving, and design initiatives that advance justice and measurable community improvement. Emphasis is placed on the intersection of human rights, lived experience, and community empowerment.
