Sacred Ease Artist Residency – Program Overview

Sacred Ease is a 30-day international artists residency in Thailand created by For The Fem In You, designed to support artists in deepening their practice through rest, cultural immersion, and intentional creative exploration. This opportunity is open to U.S.-based artists who identify as women, with priority given to BIPOC applicants. Applicants must be atleast 25 years of age and have a minimum of 5 years experience in their art form. This is a Virginia-based non-profit but all U.S. residents are welcome to apply. Application fees directly support the staff and resources required to thoughtfully review and process each submission.

Selected artists will receive a fully supported experience, including round-trip airfare to Thailand, private room accommodations within a shared artist house, three meals daily, curated cultural immersion activities, cooking classes, and wellness offerings led by local yoga and fitness practitioners. Artists will also receive a stipend for independent exploration.

All participants will be included in a culminating group exhibition showcasing work created during the residency. Participation in the final group show is required.

Sacred Ease is a space to create, connect, and expand — intentionally and without compromise.

If selected, all participating artists will be subject to a mandatory background check prior to departure for Thailand. The safety and well-being of our community is a top priority, and there is no option to opt out of this requirement. Participation in the residency is contingent upon successful completion of this process.
