    Larry T. Baza was a fierce advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, and for the arts and artists—especially BIPOC artists. He frequently called on LGBTQ+ youth to carry on the legacy of those who came before him. This scholarship has been created by Lambda Archives of San Diego in his honor as a way to support local students in their path to seeking education and training. Funding will be provided to community college students of any or no gender who are both LGBTQ+ and either Chicano/x, Latinx, or Chamorro. Applications are now open and scholarship recipients will be announced by June 1, 2026. The deadline to apply is May 28, 2026. IMPORTANT: When attaching files, please name them using the first letter of your first name, your last name, and the title of the document being attached. Example: LBazaPhoto IMPORTANT NOTES ON QUALIFICATIONS: 1. LGBTQ+- Latinx/Chicanx/or CHamoru/Guamanian; 2. Attending a community college or trade school in San Diego, Imperial Valley, or Northern Baja California; 3. People who have received the scholarship in the last two consecutive years are not eligible to apply for at least two years; 4. This scholarship does NOT support students attending a four-year University
