As of July 2023, we are no longer keeping a waiting list for beyond the planned litter for the year. Applications will open approximately 6 months before a planned breeding will be done. This policy has been put into place to ensure that our waiting list is only open to those that are serious about getting a puppy from us, as it isn't fair to hold a spot on our waiting list for someone that isn't truly committed. When are you planning to get a puppy? *from the time a breeding is done until puppies are ready to go home is approximately 4 months* Average waiting time for a Keypoint puppy is 1 year. While a wait, we do promise it's worth it!

Is your property fenced? If not how do you plan to keep your future springer spaniel safe when outside?
Do you own or rent your home? If renting a letter from your landlord stating it is ok to get an English Springer Spaniel is required.
Have you ever placed an animal in a shelter before, sold or placed them, or returned them to a breeder? If so, can you tell us about it?
Why a Springer Spaniel?
Are you opposed to tail docking/dewclaw removal? All Keypoint Puppies are docked/dewclaws removed, no exceptions!
Have you owned an English Springer Spaniel before?
Tell us about how you know that this is the right breed for you. Please speak to the research you have done on the breed.
What kinds of activities are you interested in doing with your future Springer Spaniel?
Are you interested in trying any of these sports with your dog? * Please note our own dogs are are pets first but they still require a job! Keypoint dogs are bred to maintain the strong working abilities of the breed, therefore they DO require a job beyond being a couch potatoe! We strongly encourage you to check out all of the different dog sports available!
Do you have a strong preference for one sex or the other? *Please note: we may not be able to fulfill your sex request, we ask that you keep an open mind in regards to this. The perfect fit for your family should take priority above all else*
Do you have a colour preference?
We place puppies based upon temperament match with families, and in the best interest of the puppy. How do you feel about us choosing a puppy for you?
Expectations of us
What kind of support do you need from us as breeders? Are you willing and able to keep in touch with us about your future Springer's health and development?
If the breeder wanted the dog shown to it's championship would you be willing to do so?
Is there anything else that we should know about you, your living situation, or interests which would help us match a potential puppy with you/your family?
Our Expectations of You:
We sell our puppies on mandatory non-breeding contracts which means they are not to be bred and if any offspring were ever produced they are not eligible for registration with the Canadian Kennel Club. They are eligible to compete in all CKC events. Are you willing to accept this contract? Please note we do NOT sell dogs with breeding rights, only companion/sport homes.
We require this puppy be desexed at no earlier than 12 months of age unless otherwise instructed by the breeder or veterinarian recommended (in writing) is provided. Do you understand this requirement? If not please explain why.
Pet health emergencies can happen to any pet, no matter how carefully we breed, and no matter how careful you are. How would you manage the financial side of a pet emergency?
How often do you plan to groom your dog? Will you be doing your own grooming or taking to a professional groomer? Are you willing to do routine ear cleaning and nail trims?
How are you planning to pick up your puppy from us? * we no longer fly puppies via cargo, new homes must either fly out to us for pick up or use a flight nanny*

Thank you for inquiring about our Springer Spaniels! Filling in this application does not guarantee you a puppy or a spot on our waiting list. Please visit our website www.keypointkennels.com for our puppy placement policy. This application is the first step in determining if your family is the right fit for a Keypoint puppy. Please only submit this application if you are seriously ready to purchase a puppy within the next year, as we no longer keep a waiting list for beyond our planned breeding for the year. Upon review of this application, if we decide to proceed to the next step we will contact you to set up an interview (done by phone or zoom). If approved as a potential home, we do require a $150 non refundable Application Processing Fee to hold your spot on our waiting list. This fee is not part of your purchase price, it is a separate fee. Once on our waiting list you will be informed of when breeding's occur, confirmation of pregnancy, etc. We understand that life happens and your Application fee can be applied to a maximum of 2 litters. If you do not get a puppy in that time, we ask that you kindly reapply to be on our waiting list. We do ask that if you choose to go with another breeder while on our waiting list, please be so kind to let us know right away! It is not fair to hold your spot on our waiting list, if you chose to get a puppy from somewhere else. Keypoint puppy families are chosen with utmost care and diligence. We maintain contact with our puppy families throughout the dog's lifetime and do expect updates from our puppy families. We make a full commitment to always be there to help our puppy families, our dogs come with lifetime support! We take great care to ensure we are producing Springer Spaniels that are of sound mind and body.
