The Global Health Conference Awards recognizes individuals within our global health community whose work reflects the core values of the Global Health Program—leadership, mentorship, innovation, cultural humility, and a sustained commitment to advancing health equity.

John M. Murphy, MD Award Nomination

The John M. Murphy, MD Leadership Award recognizes an outstanding member of the global health community who demonstrates innovative, initiative-driven leadership that meaningfully advances global health education, partnerships, clinical care, or systems development.The global health community encompasses both domestic members of the Nuvance Health and Northwell Health networks and colleagues from our international partner sites, reflecting the collaborative, bidirectional nature of our work. This award honors individuals whose leadership extends beyond their formal role, creating lasting impact within the Global Health Academy and contributing to broader institutional and international collaborations.
Sister Jane Frances Award Nomination

This award recognizes a student who transforms compassion into impact through outstanding engagement in global health - locally and globally - by designing and implementing creative, equity-driven solutions with diligence and collaboration. This award honors a student who moves beyond initial emotional responses to develop and implement a creative, thoughtful, and impactful solution through sustained effort, dedication, and ethical engagement. The award celebrates students who transform reflection into action and contribute meaningfully to communities and global health partnerships.
Linde Excellence in Mentoring Award Nomination

This award recognizes a US-based physician or a faculty member who has excelled at mentoring global health scholars in achieving their career objectives through moral, social, and intellectual support.The award honors mentors who actively contribute to the program’s bidirectional approach to global health education,fostering mutual learning and exchange between domestic and international partners. Through mentorship that values shared expertise, reciprocal growth, and collaborative learning, award recipients strengthen global health partnerships while supporting scholars across diverse cultural and institutional contexts.
Majid Sadigh, MD Scholarship Nomination

The Majid Sadigh, MD Scholarship was established in 2024 to support the work of female faculty members dedicated to improving the physical and mental well-being of underserved and marginalized populations. This scholarship recognizes individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to health equity, social justice, and community advancement, and who propose innovative and well-designed initiatives that address unmet health needs. Through this scholarship, recipients receive financial support (up to 10.000 USD) to lead projects that expand access to essential health services and promote meaningful improvements in the health of vulnerable populations. Projects supported by the scholarship may include community-based service initiatives, research, advocacy efforts, or program development aimed at strengthening health systems and improving population health outcomes. The scholarship honors individuals whose work reflects compassion, leadership, and a sustained commitment to improving health and social conditions for underserved communities.

Scholarship Proposal

Maximum three pages. The scholarship proposal should include: Background and rationale, clearly defined objectives, methods, and project implementation plan, expected outcomes and impact at both individual and public health levels, a one-year timeline, and a proposed budget. The proposal may include no more than 10 citations.
