AWARD PURPOSE
The Outstanding Achievement Award honors a member of the Legion Family who has delivered exceptional results in a specific project, program, or initiative that significantly advanced the mission, visibility, or operational success of American Legion Post 36.
This award recognizes impactful accomplishment — a standout achievement that produced measurable, lasting benefit to the Post or community.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Nominees must:
• Be a member in good standing of the American Legion
• Have completed the achievement within the current award year (or past 12 months)
• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Post 36 standards and Legion values
EVALUATION CRITERIA
1. Significance of Achievement (30%)
• Accomplishment demonstrates exceptional effort, innovation, or leadership
• Achievement directly supports the mission of the American Legion
• Work produced a clear, positive outcome for the Post or community
2. Measurable Impact (25%)
• Achievement resulted in tangible, documented benefits
• Enhanced Post operations, membership engagement, or community outreach
• Strengthened the Post’s reputation or visibility
3. Initiative & Problem-Solving (20%)
• Nominee took proactive steps to identify needs or challenges
• Demonstrated creativity, resourcefulness, and follow-through
• Overcame obstacles to complete the project
4. Embodiment of Legion Values (15%)
• Displays integrity, professionalism, and respect
• Acts in the spirit of service to veterans, families, and community
• Represents Post 36 with pride and responsibility
5. Collaboration & Leadership Influence (10%)
• Works effectively with others
• Inspires teamwork, cooperation, and positive morale
• Strengthens the Post’s culture of service
