As a former Youth Tour delegate, you've already demonstrated a commitment to leadership, civic engagement and community service. To help support the next step in your public service journey, Iowa's electric cooperatives are excited to offer two scholarship opportunities exclusively for Iowa Youth Tour alumni who pursue internship experiences in government.

Federal Internship Scholarship Program

Deadline for Summer Interns is April 30

Deadline for Fall Interns is June 30

The program provides financial support to outstanding students who have demonstrated leadership, civic engagement, and a commitment to public service. Designed to encourage continued involvement in government and cooperative advocacy, this program awards a $3,000 scholarship to eligible recipients who serve as interns in Washington, D.C.

Up to two scholarships will be awarded each year.

State Government Internship Scholarship Program

Deadline to apply is Nov. 15

The program supports Iowa students who demonstrate leadership, civic engagement, and a strong interest in public service through hands‑on experience at the Iowa Statehouse or within state government. This program provides a $500 scholarship to eligible students who serve as Iowa Statehouse Pages or who secure an internship within Iowa state government.

Up to three scholarships will be awarded each year.
