  • MEDICATIONS WILL BE CHECKED INTO THE CAMP NURSE UPON ARRIVAL AT GRAND OAKS. THIS INCLUDES ANY OVER THE COUNTER MEDICATIONS SUCH AS TYLENOL.

  • THE FOLLOWING MEDICATIONS WILL BE PROVIDED BY CAMP NURSE IF NEEDED. Please check box to give permission for the camper to take the following medications if recommended by the camp nurse during the week. IF NOTHING IS MARKED YOU WILL RECEIVE A PHONE CALL FOR PERMISSION PRIOR TO ANY MEDICATION BEING ADMINISTERED.*

  • MEDICAL RELEASE: I (we) have provided complete and accurate information about this camper/staff member and understand that, in the event medical treatment is required, every effort will be made to contact me (us) or the person named above. However, if I (we) cannot be reached, I (we) give permission to the staff or sponsor to secure the medical services deemed necessary to provide for this camper's/staff member's wellbeing. I (we) also understand that the insurance provided by Grand Oaks Baptist Association, Inc. is a limited supplmental policy covering only injury or accidents during the event at Grand Oaks. Even then it will be used only to supplment the family insurance.

  • Dear Parents,

     

    Your camper's total well-being is the first concern of the faculty and staff at Missouri Valley Baptist Association Camp at Grand Oaks Baptist Assembly (9463 State Highway 190, Chillicothe, MO). You, however, are the most important factor in your camper's success. The single greatest cause of a camper leaving camp early or for having an unsuccessful experience is homesickness. Here are some suggestions and requests, which will greatly increase the likelihood of your camper having a good experience at camp:

    • Please fill out registration forms carefully, correct information makes everything runs smoother for everyone. Be sure you include which church is sponsoring your camper.
    • Have a positive attitude - reassure your camper he/she will have a great time. Try to give a positive response to their questions about camp.
    • Do not tell your child to call home. Students are not to have their phones, and this is a great week to disconnect and be able to focus on God and to hear him clearly without distractions. Cell phones make homesickness a greater problem. Send writing materials and stamps so they can write home. Encourage your child to stay the entire week. Tell them you will see them when they get home. Call only in case of an emergency. All calls will be referred to the Camp Director. They are the only person who may approve a camper's use of the phone.
    • All medications need to be IN THEIR ORIGINAL PRESCRIPTION BOTTLE and turned in to the nurse upon arrival at the camp. Children will not be allowed to take unmarked medications.
    • Make arrangements to have your camper at camp on time. Check-In is 10-11 a.m. for youth camp. Please make sure you are aware when your church is leaving for camp and if you are driving your child up, arrive any time during registration!
    • Camp ends at 10:00 am but all campers are asked to help with the final cleanup of the cabins and grounds before departure. We ask that campers stay until all of the grounds are inspected and cleared by the Camp Manager. If you are picking up your child on Friday please arrive by 10:00 am. All campers will need to leave the campgrounds by 10:30 am.

    The camp committee is asking parents to caution their children about staging "pranks" at camp. Any action that is destructive, harmful, wasteful or humiliating is inappropriate. There have been incidents where entire bottles of shampoo or toothpaste have been poured down the sink; shaving cream put on faces of others who were sleeping, or ransacking each others luggage (these are just a few of the problems we have faced). If your child is involved in anything that the director deems excessive, you will be contacted and asked to pick your child up. Camp fees will not be refunded for such cases. Rest assured that if a problem arises involving your camper the Camp Director will contact you immediately. No news from your camper means that he/she is having a great week at camp and will have many adventures to tell you about at his/her homecoming.

  • CAMP RULES
    Camp is a different living environment where people from various backgrounds must live together in harmony. For this to happen the following rules are necessary so each person can have a successful week.

    1. This is a Christian Camp. Conduct should be according to Christian principles.
    2. All campers are to attend all classes and activities unless you are ill enough to be excused by the camp nurse.
    3. All campers will remain on the assembly grounds for the entire week unless excused by the Camp Director. Permission must be gained in advance with a telephone call or note from parent or guardian.
    4. Quiet times, rest times and lights out schedules will be respected.
    5. Smoking, vaping, and the use of tobacco or marijuana in any form will not be allowed. Alcohol, illegal drugs, fireworks, water fights, pranks, or abusive language will not be allowed. Offenders can be sent home and camp fees WILL NOT be refunded.
    6. The assembly grounds will be kept clean and neat at all times. This includes the cabins, your bunk area, recreation areas, and also study, eating and worship areas.
    7. Boys are not allowed in girls' cabins, nor are the girls allowed in the boys' cabins.
    8. Food is not permitted in the cabins.
    9. Only the Camp Director, or those designated by him/her, are allowed to use the audio equipment or musical instruments in the chapel.
    10. Campers will be held responsible for the repair or replacement cost of any damage to either buildings or equipment that they cause.
    11. Dress Code: Shirts are required for boys at all times, except in the pool area. Girls are asked not to wear halter-tops, bare midriff tops or spaghetti strap tops. Girls are to wear one-piece bathing suits (If all you bring is a two-piece suit, you MUST wear a DARK t-shirt over it at ALL times) or a tankini that covers the stomach at all times. Some type of robe or street clothes will be worn over swimsuits (male and female) when away from the pool area. Pajamas are to be worn IN THE CABINS ONLY!
    12. Clothing or caps that advertise alcohol, tobacco, or something offensive are not allowed.
    13. No swimming without a responsible adult present in addition to the lifeguards.
    14. Absolutely no electronic devices allowed, including iPods, tablets, or CELL PHONES. If they are brought, they will need to be turned in upon arrival and returned on Friday at dismissal.
    15. No PDA (Public Displays of Affection).

    ALL CAMPERS ARE TO BE PICKED UP AT THE CLOSE OF CAMP. PLEASE BE SURE YOUR CHILD KNOWS WHOM HE/SHE IS TO RIDE WITH! All campers must be signed-out before leaving the premises. By signing below, the student agrees to these campground rules for a great and fun week at camp!
