About the YES2Trades Program

YES2Trades is a free painting and decorating training program that gives you the skills, certifications, and hands-on experience needed to start a career in the trades — at no cost to you.

The program includes:

• 8 weeks of hands-on training in painting, drywall, and decorative finishes
• 1-on-1 job coaching and employment support
• 8–12 weeks of paid job placement in the trades
• Industry certifications, including:
WHMIS, Elevated Platform Training, Working at Heights, First Aid, Confined Space Training, and more

Who Can Apply
Participants must meet the following requirements:

• Be 16–29 years old
• Be interested in full-time employment in painting and trades
• Be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, Convention Refugee, or Refugee Claimant
• Not currently working
• Not currently enrolled in school
• Have completed Grade 10 Math and English

Program Start Dates
Our first cohort begins in April 2026, with additional cohorts running throughout the year.

Spots are limited and fill up quickly — apply early to secure your place in the next intake.

YES2Trades Pre-Apprenticeship Program Registration

YES2Trades is a FREE Painting, Drywall & Trades Training program for youth aged 16–29 in Toronto. This 5-month pre-apprenticeship program includes 8 weeks of in-person training at our downtown Toronto office, plus 12 weeks of PAID job placement.
