  • Home Ground Security of Tenure

  • Ground Security of Tenure:

    National Conference League Clubs must comply with one of the following three ownership models.

    1.Own their ground or,

    2.Hold security of a lease agreement for a minimum term of five years.

    3.Have a licence/rental agreement with the ground owner which covers as minimum the duration of the season (11 months), have played at this ground for a minimum of four years, and ground control as outlined in league regulations.

    Ground Control:

    Clubs must confirm their ability to host fixtures at any time as designed by the league. Only the leagues or a league appointed referee can postpone fixtures unless in exceptional circumstances akin to a Force Majeure event. Clubs must have full control of the ground on match day for operational purposes and in addition the ground must be available to the Home Team, Away Team and League Operator as defined within the competition rules before and after the fixture start time to include two hours before kick off and one hour after the conclusion of the fixture

  • Upgrades and Development of Home Grounds:

    Clubs developing new or improved grounds should not face barriers to participation. Clubs will be permitted to ground share at the start of, or during, a season, provided that the ground share meets competition ground requirements and rules. Said groundshare must be for a maximum period of 12-months and subject to ratification of the NAFL Board. For clarity, Clubs who have commenced, or will commence prior to 31 March 2026, developing their ground will also not face barriers to entry provided that the club can evidence, to the satisfaction of the NAFL Board, that the development confirms the ground will comply with all ground requirements and rules upon completion, and be completed within a maximum 12-month timeframe from development works commence.
