Clone of WAC Global Connections Club, Session 5: From Ideas to Impact: Youth Advocacy and Civic Engagement
  • WAC Global Connections Club,Session 7

    Wednesday, April 8th, 2026 | 4-5PM
  • Join us Wednesday, April 8th, from 4-5pm as we learn how local action and global perspectives can come together to create a more sustainable and interconnected world.

This April, the World Affairs Council’s Global Connections Club will explore the theme of environmental stewardship—what it means, why it matters, and how young people can play an active role in protecting our planet and supporting sustainable communities.

We are excited to feature a partner spotlight with Global Family Travels, an organization dedicated to connecting youth and families with meaningful, community-centered travel experiences. Their work highlights the powerful intersection of cultural exchange, sustainability, and global citizenship.

During this session, Global Family Travels will share opportunities for youth to engage in environmental stewardship both locally and globally, including their partnerships with Indigenous communities in the greater Seattle area. These experiences center Indigenous knowledge, respect for the land, and community-led conservation efforts.

From salmon restoration along the Elwha River to engaging with Makah and Nisqually traditions, this immersive experience encourages students to reflect on their role as environmental stewards while building cross-cultural awareness and respect.
