Thank you for your interest in joining Reel Stories summer as a Producer, we’re really glad you found your way here!
Reel Stories is a program designed for young women, girls, and gender-expansive youth. As we build our summer producer cohort (for Bootcamp and Camp Reel Stories), we are aiming to bring together a group that reflects the communities we serve. If you have questions about this, please reach out to youthprograms@bavc.org!
Before completing this application, please read the full Producer + Institute Overview
That document is where all the details live - program dates, compensation, what the role actually looks like, and how the summer flows. It’ll give you a clear sense of what you’re stepping into (and what we’re building together).
Producers can indicate interest in supporting Boot Camp, Camp Reel Stories, or both, depending on availability and fit.
All accepted Producers are expected to attend our Producer Training (Wednesday, June 3 from 1:00–4:00 PM at Oakstop in downtown Oakland) - this is where we gather as a cohort, get grounded, and kick off the summer together.
After you submit your application, Meru Sharma, Reel Stories Program Manager, will follow up to schedule a short call - a chance for us to meet you, hear more about your work, and answer any questions you might have.
Please note: accepted Producers will also need to complete a TB test and fingerprint Live Scan as part of onboarding.
Questions? Reach out anytime at reelstories@bavc.org - we’re happy to connect.
Looking forward to building something special together this summer!
