CODE OF CONDUCT
All GA K9 SAR Team members, regardless of their role, shall conform to the GA K9 SAR Code of Conduct. Any violation of the code of conduct will result in disciplinary action including but not limited to, removal from current status or from the team.
GA K9 SAR Team's Code of Conduct follows:
- Any illegal activity or conduct unbecoming is grounds for immediate dismissal.
- All members must be capable of working professionally and effectively with a variety of individuals and organizations, including but not limited to:
- All member types within GA K9 SAR Team
- Federal, State, and Local Law enforcement
- Fire departments and Emergency Management Agencies
- Other search and rescue organizations
- Other volunteers
- Media representatives
- Self-deployment to a search is grounds for immediate dismissal.
- No GAK9SAR Member, Associate, or Affiliate is authorized to address the media.
- No GAK9SAR Member, Associate, or Affiliate is authorized or allowed to post information about a current GA K9 SAR Search on any social media. Any social media post after the completion of the search must go through review by GA K9 SAR Executive Team.
- Team members are expected to mentor and assist others regardless of their role in search and rescue.
- Team members are expected to dress appropriately for all GA K9 SAR events. Apparel, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and gear shall meet all applicable national safety standards.
- GAK9SAR members must be capable of performing the functions as an asset rather than a liability at all times.
