Marie entered the race in late February around the time that KQED announced its debate. Marie immediately asked to be included and was told the criteria. She met the criteria, including the fundraising requirement. KQED would not accept proof of her fundraising, telling her they needed a public filing from 12/31/25 (2 months before the candidate filing deadline).
Marie has more than met the fundraising threshold, earned significant media
Yet KQED, which is in part tax-payer funded, refuses to include her. (Although a KQED journalist included Marie in an article about congressional candidates weeks ago).
This isn’t just unfair, it seems to violate federal standards that require debate hosts to use reasonable and objective criteria when deciding who gets to participate.
And more importantly, it denies voters like you the chance to hear from all credible candidates before making a decision.
