Fair Housing Tester Inquiry Form

Fair housing testers help our organization investigate potential housing discrimination and enforce important civil rights laws.

Testers are given a “profile” and pose as potential tenants by inquiring about rental listings and reporting their experiences. Our agency then compares the experiences of testers in the field to determine whether landlords are treating people differently based on certain protected characteristics such as race, religion, gender, national origin, familial status, or disability.

HUD regulations require that fair housing testers must not have prior felony convictions or convictions of crimes involving fraud or perjury.

After a conditional offer of employment is made to any potential tester a background check will be performed to ensure that FHANC is in compliance with HUD regulations.
